It kind of belongs to Samsung already. Every year we see several advertisements in which the South Korean company tries to mock Apple and points out the shortcomings that Apple devices have. Recently, a new series of iPhone ads have been released, once again opening up the question of whether the ever-repeating cues are losing their charm. What Samsung is alluding to in the new advertisements and why even a die-hard apple fan can laugh at them, will be answered and commented on in the following article. And it will also offer a look at other ads from the past, some of which even won from Apple and Samsung at the same time.
Ingenius
While the once very hot patent disputes between Apple and Samsung have subsided somewhat, the South Korean company continues its offensive advertisements even now. In the new seven-part series of short ads called Ingenius, there are traditional allusions to the slot for memory cards, fast charging or headphone jack, which are already, to put it mildly, out of date. They also point to an allegedly worse camera, slower speed, and a lack of multitasking – meaning multiple applications side by side. But there are also original ideas that can make even a die-hard apple lover laugh. For example, we were amused by a family with hairstyles in the exact shape of the iPhone X screen in a video that points to the so-called notch, i.e. the cut-out in the upper part of the screen.

Samsung is having fun. What about Apple?
It is not clear whether this type of advertising earns Samsung so much that it keeps coming back to it, or it is already a certain tradition and entertainment at the same time. At first glance, Apple seems to be morally superior in this conflict, i.e. the positive hero in the story, as it concentrates more on its own products than on criticizing others, but even Apple does not forgive itself for this hint from time to time. Examples include the annual comparison of iOS with Android at WWDC or the recent creative series of ads comparing the iPhone and "your phone", which of course symbolizes phones with the Android system.
Everyone gets a kick out of Apple
Samsung is far from being the only one to use Apple products in its promotion, but it cannot be denied that it is by far the most experienced in this area. It was also, for example, Microsoft, which a few years ago promoted its Surface tablet by comparing it to the iPad, where it pointed to the shortcomings at the time, such as the inability to have multiple windows next to each other, or the lack of computer versions of applications. Companies such as Google or even the Chinese Huawei are not left behind with their occasional allusions. Five years ago, Nokia solved it brilliantly under the wing of Microsoft. In one commercial, she made fun of Apple and Samsung at the same time.

Whatever your opinion on the subject, it's good in life to laugh at your own shortcomings once in a while. And if you're a die-hard Apple fan, it's a good idea to do the same in this case. Sometimes, of course, similar ads are already a bit annoying, especially when they keep repeating the same thing over and over again, but every now and then an original piece appears that can be fun. After all, we have nothing else left, we will probably never get rid of apple products.
This is what usually happens in the media world, that the number two on the market or a less successful competitor is compared to the number one. And in advertising, they try to promote themselves above the market leader, for example, Hyundai vs. a neighbor from Mladá Boleslav...
However, Samsung is number one in terms of sales, and in terms of innovation, I think it is doing better. However, Apple's profits are bigger
Samsung only knows how to copy something, they would never come up with anything good. Just copy, even badly. They can only laugh at themselves, everyone knows how it is in reality that they are incapable.
I completely switched to Apple two months ago. iPhone, Apple Watch, Mac, Airpods, Apple TV. Android for many years before that, specifically the Samsung Note 3. I haven't bought another Note. I absolutely do not understand why someone implements rounded edges on an elongated phone (18:9 aspect ratio). I tried using the stylus on the Note 8 and it really is a mega fail. You can't write from edge to edge because it's rounded, so you have a really narrow writing lane. So for 1 max 2 words. You write in a narrow column. Not usable. The much-mocked bite-out display is so "ugly and fart" that almost all manufacturers have used it on their flagships. Only Samsung is defending, but it has its super roundness. After X years, at least they put the fingerprint reader under the camera lens. What good is a supposed super camera with a variable aperture when you have a greasy finger stuck on the lens.
I am personally very very satisfied now. All my devices work together perfectly. Updates guaranteed for many years. Feel free to laugh at Apple. You laugh, Apple earns and goes.
All my life I have been a supporter of why buy an expensive apple, when today there are better parameters and it costs 1/3 of the price... In the last year, my girlfriend and I both bought an iPhone 7, airpods, an ipad pro and now I'm grinding my teeth on a macbook. And so far I am extremely satisfied. The only minus, but again when you understand why it is so. The closedness of the system, that you can upload a video (I don't mean a movie) from Windows. Or a picture, via istyle, or icloud and the like. Apple is just protecting itself. And on top of that, it pretty much protects the copyrights of music and others.
Which is how it should be. If I were a singer, I wouldn't be happy that everyone has my songs on their mobile phone and I don't get anything out of it.
The apple family will definitely be expanding at home, I'm just smiling at the others. Who are still dealing with how expensive apple is and that they can't do anything.. And it's almost at such a stage that they are deliberately looking for topics to mock apple. Otherwise, I haven't heard anyone from my neighborhood who has an apple make fun of others..
I quite enjoy copying the appearance.. look at the Honor MagicBook laptop for example, at first glance it only lacks the logo, it is a faithful copy... Otherwise, even the MagicBook font is the same as the MacBook :-), I think that against this particular case it would Apple should have defended itself.
