It's been a week since we learned the shape of the news that Apple prepared for us as part of its spring event. Without hasty judgments, with the passage of time and even with a cool head, the whole event can actually only be viewed positively. It was short, to the point, and brought the really important point home. As a whole, you can't actually say a bad word about the pre-recorded video itself. Tim Cook it started appropriately in the spring, i.e. in the exterior of Apple Park, when it introduced the expansion of services purple iPhone 12. Which no one had a clue about - point to Apple. Air Tag we knew about it long in advance. The only thing that was still a secret about it was actually just the price. Here, therefore, without surprise and rather out of obligation.

I'm not buying a TV

Apple TV 4K 2st generation is surely the biggest disappointment of the whole event. Not because it has a new controller without accelerometer and gyroscope, but with better ergonomics, more buttons and a circular controller. The A12 Bionic chip is to blame. At this time, it is still quite up to par, because even the iPhone XS are still performing in an exemplary way, but if it will be the same in a year, two, three or four, when Apple may introduce a new generation, as was the case after the same time interval now , I'm not so sure. Anyway, Apple didn't win me over with this "improvement". Considering that I don't own a smart TV and that I was planning to invest in a new product rather than a whole new TV, I'll probably still be content with connecting the MacBook via HDMI to properly enjoy the six months of free Apple TV+ that I still have on large diagonal to the end.

But the computer might eventually

I would never say that I would even consider buying an iMac. I am an undemanding user who practically only works on the web. My working solution is a 12" MacBook with a docking station to which an external monitor is connected (Philips 243S). I then have connected peripherals via Bluetooth, i.e. Apple keyboard and trackpad. Both still in their first generation, i.e. the one in which the power supply is handled by AAA batteries. And yes, it is impractical.

Given the scope of my work, I performance MacBook from 2016 is fully sufficient. But sooner rather than later, I'd rather start using it as a secondary machine and replace it with another workstation. And why have two MacBooks, when one will be 100% used and the other will be in reserve "just in case" when there is a great new one 24″ iMac with M1 chip? So I started thinking seriously about a desktop. But buy a new iMac, or can I get by with a Mac mini? Due to my requirements, I am not aiming for any optional configuration or higher models. I can get by with the basics. You can find the controversy over whether or not who comes out cheaper and what they bring extra in their own article comparing both of these computers.

Do not wait for the unification of the series

Nový iPad Pro 2021 actually brought only one big surprise, because everything else was already known long before - including the fact that only the 12,9" version of the tablet will get the mini-LED. The M1 chip, which is also in Apple Silicon computers, now also has the iPad Pro, and it's great marketing. A tablet as powerful as a computer (basically for the same price) just sounds good. Although Apple used this a long time ago, it is now truly an uncompromising truth. Yes, it did… which cannot be said for the video of Tim Cook stealing the Mission-style chip itself: Impossible. Let's face it, it wasn't worthy of his position. But as Greg Joswiak and John Ternus, the head of marketing and head of hardware at Apple, told us, merging Mac computers with iPad tablets is not the company's goal. And isn't that a shame, I ask?
