Comment: How could Apple have the largest communication platform in the world and not have it

New filings in legal battle between companies Epic and Apple bring more pieces of information into one big puzzle. And since everything is connected with everything, the News application is also dealt with here, i.e. hers iMessage. As it turns out, Apple's senior vice president, Eddy Cue pushed for iMessage to be also available on Android. If that happens, there is quite possibly the biggest communication platform here.

iMessage is an instant messaging service developed by Apple and launched in 2011. It works exclusively on platforms Apple, i.e. macOS, iOS, iPadOS a WATCH. But it could also reach Android, but in 2013 this idea was swept off the table by several managers Apple. And while it seemed like the right way at the time, it may have been a mistake.

V Apple they were afraid that availability iMessage on Android will cause families to buy only cheap Android phones for their children instead of iPhones. However, they would still be able to communicate with them within messages, if Apple's function was cross-platform. In addition, Craig Fererighi added that he does not know what they should do to entice users of WhatsApp and other services to start using iMessage exclusively. 

WhatsApp is still the largest communication platform in the world (according to Google, it is used by 14 billion people as of 1/2021/2,26), but perhaps with the contribution Apple. At the same time, only his iPhones are actively used more than billion people in the world. Add to that iPads and Macs (there were 2019 billion active devices in total at the start of 1,4), and the fact that Apple, of course, continues to sell especially its phones like on a treadmill and its Messages app with iMessage simply used by every owner of this phone.

The Messages application is of course used to send messages, the classic ones that are received by every phone, regardless of its smartness. It is therefore an SMS from which iMessage only happens if you are connected to the Internet, as is the other party who also owns an iPhone, iPad or Mac computer on which iMessage accepts. And since the iPhone is a phone, and since everyone still sends SMS, everyone uses the Messages application. And since everyone already uses it, it can be expected that when it is on data it will automatically send i iMessage, which allows us to grow our user group quite nonviolently.

iMessage but there is a service that also saves you money. Thanks to the transmission of information through the data network, you do not pay for classic SMS billing, but only for certain data transmission. This is negligible in the case of a classic message. Shipping is also cheaper multimédia than sending it via MMS.

With the functions of the application, Apple takes considerable inspiration from the competition and constantly improves its Messages so that they resemble other communication platforms more and more. Even so, their major drawback is that they simply do not communicate with Android. If you live in a user bubble Apple, it's certainly great, but not many people have it like this. And in order to communicate with another platform, you still have to use Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Viber and other applications.
