Among the native applications that you can use within the macOS operating system is Keynote. With the help of this application, you can create interesting presentations for various occasions. If you really want to use Keynote on Mac to its full potential, you can try the five tips and tricks that we bring you in today's article.

Animation of object movement

If you want to make your Keynote presentation special with the animated movement of objects - either when they appear on a given slide or, conversely, when they disappear from the slide - you can use the function called Assembly Effects in the application. First, click to select the object you want to apply the animation to. In the upper part of the panel on the left side of the application window, select the Animations tab. Depending on whether you want to set the animation to move the object to or from the frame, click the Start or End tab, choose Add Effect at the end, select the desired animation and refine its details.

Create a paragraph style

When working in Keynote, we often work with recurring paragraph styles. In such a case, it is a good idea to save the given paragraph style and then simply and quickly apply it to other selected paragraphs. To create a new paragraph style, first apply the appropriate adjustments to the current paragraph. After editing, click anywhere in the edited text and then select the Text tab in the upper part of the panel on the left side of the application window. At the top, click the name of the paragraph style, then click the "+" in the Paragraph Styles section. Finally, name the newly created paragraph style.

Automatic text replacement

Do you type quickly and do you often make repeated typos at work that you then have to manually correct? For example, if you know that you often accidentally type "por" instead of "pro," you can set up automatic text correction in Keynote on Mac. At the top of your Mac screen, click Keynote -> Preferences and choose AutoCorrect at the top of the preferences window. In the Replacement section, check Symbol and Text Replacements, click "+" and then enter the typo text in the table, while in the New Text column you enter the variant to replace your typo with.

Record the presentation

In the Keynote application on Mac, you can also use the presentation recording function, thanks to which you can subsequently export the presentation as a video file, for example. To record a presentation, first click on its first slide in the panel on the left side of the application window. At the top of the screen, click Play -> Record Presentation. You will be presented with a presentation recording interface where you can then add voice commentary and edit the details of the recording. To start recording, click the red button at the bottom of the window.

Templates

The iWork office suite application from Apple offers the ability to work with templates. If you haven't chosen from the range of templates that Keynote offers in its base, don't despair - the Internet is full of sites like this Template.net, which will serve as a very comprehensive library of all possible templates for various occasions.
