The entire republic has been in quarantine for several days now. While absolutely nothing has changed for some, others have stopped going to work, cannot do it from home and thus have had unplanned leave for an indefinite period. It would certainly not be a good idea to fall into the trap of doing nothing and spend the quarantine in bed or on the couch watching series and playing games. What can you do to make yourself a little better after the quarantine is over?

Read on

We should always read a lot - regardless of the quarantine. You will not visit the library or the bookstore at the moment, on various e-shops or on the Apple Books platform, but you can get a number of very interesting titles. For example, it legally offers free e-books Databook server, from foreign servers is an excellent choice, for example Project Gutenberg. If you use the Apple Books app to read e-books, you can also set a goal here in the form of the time you want to spend reading each day.

  • Launch the Books app.
  • At the top, under "Read" click "Today's Reading".
  • Tap "Today's Reading" to change your daily goal. You can also share completed goals with your family or friends.

Learn something new

Staying at home is a great opportunity to learn something new. It could be playing a musical instrument, a new language, or maybe the basics of programming. If you're interested in Swift, you can try the app on your iPad or Mac Playgrounds – you definitely don't need to be afraid of it, it is not intended only for the youngest users. Paid programming lessons are offered by the Mimo application, online IT courses also offers Czechitas. You can use the application to learn to play a musical instrument SimplyPiano or Yousician, an excellent platform for self-education is also represented by iTunes U or Coursera. If you don't have an instrument at home, grab your iPhone or iPad and get cracking in GarageBand. A reliable (and free) classic for anyone who wants to learn a new foreign language is Duolingo.

Clean up

Does that sound terrible? Cleaning can also be fun. Choose the right playlist on Spotify, or listen to an interesting lecture from TedX, and get to work. Do you want to use apps to help you clean your home in quarantine? No problem. If you have your system, you just have trouble cleaning long enough, you can set time intervals in one of the pomodoro apps or in the native Minutka on your Apple device. An app can help you with your home cleaning system tody, if you want to involve your family or roommates in the cleaning, you can use the application OurHome. If you would like to start remodeling your home right away, you will find great inspiration in the application Houzz.

Exercise

Staying physically fit is good for your mental well-being, and it contributes too better immunity. Whenever I mention exercise-related apps in an article, I'm primarily promoting them Nike Training Club – this app is, in my opinion, probably the best free solution available for those who want to do something about their physical performance and fitness. If you don't have enough time to exercise, you can try one of the apps that offer seven-minute workout sets. I can recommend it to anyone who doesn't mind spending some money for an "exercise" application Rebel Asana. And if, on the other hand, you don't want to spend at all on exercise, I can recommend programs from my own experience FitFab Strong, then channels on youtube Fraser Wilson or yoga with Tara Stiles whether Adriene.

Learn to cook

Have you stocked up on pasta, rice, flour, onions and garlic? It is high time to use them somehow. Try Italian, Chinese, Vietnamese, but also good old Czech cuisine. On the App Store you will find a lot of applications that will help you with cooking. If at the same time you want to start watching your weight or start counting macronutrients, the Calorie Tables or MyFitnessPal applications will come in handy, where you can also find interesting food tips. She must be great BBC Good Food, Yummly or Czech FitRecipes.
