The world of gaming has grown to unprecedented proportions. Today, we can play on practically any device - whether it's computers, phones or game consoles. But the truth is that if we wanted to shine a light on full-fledged AAA titles, we simply cannot do without a high-quality computer or console. On the contrary, on iPhones or Macs, we will play undemanding games that no longer receive such attention for a simple reason. The aforementioned AAAs do not even reach the ankles.

If you don't want to spend tens of thousands on a high-quality gaming computer that can easily handle these games, then the best choice is definitely to reach for a gaming console. It can reliably deal with all available titles, and you can be sure that it will serve you for many years to come. The best advantage is the price. The consoles of the current generation, namely the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5, will cost you around 13 thousand crowns, while for a gaming computer you would easily leave 30 thousand crowns. For example, just such a graphics card, which is an elementary component for PC gaming, will easily cost you more than 20 thousand crowns. But when we think about the mentioned consoles, a rather interesting question arises. Is Xbox or Playstation better for Apple users? This is exactly what we are going to shed light on together now.

Xbox

At the same time, the giant Microsoft offers two game consoles - the flagship Xbox Series X and the smaller, cheaper and less powerful Xbox Series S. However, we will leave the performance and options aside for now and let's focus instead on the main aspects that may interest Apple users. Of course, the absolute core is the iOS app. In this respect, Microsoft certainly has nothing to be ashamed of. It offers a relatively solid app with a simple and clear user interface, in which you can view, for example, personal statistics, activity of friends, browse new game titles and the like. In short, there are a lot of options. However, we must not forget to mention that even if you are half a world away from your Xbox and you get a tip for a good game, there is nothing easier than downloading it in the app - as soon as you get home, you can start playing right away.

In addition, it certainly does not end with the mentioned app. One of the main strengths of Xbox is the so-called Game Pass. It is a subscription that gives you access to over 300 full-fledged AAA games, which you can play without any limitations. There is also a higher variant of Game Pass Ultimate which also includes EA Play membership and also offers Xbox Cloud Gaming, which we will cover in a moment. So without having to spend thousands on games, just pay for a subscription and you can be sure that you will definitely choose. The Game Pass includes games such as Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite (and other parts of the Halo series), Microsoft Flight Simulator, Sea of Thieves, A Plague Tale: Innocence, UFC 4, Mortal Kombat and many others. In the case of Game Pass Ultimate, you also get Far Cry 5, FIFA 22, Assassin's Creed: Origins, It Takes Two, A Way Out and more.

Now let's move on to a perk that many players say will change the world. We are talking about the Xbox Cloud Gaming service, sometimes also called xCloud. This is a so-called cloud gaming platform, where the provider's servers take care of the calculation and processing of a specific game, while only the image is sent to the player. Thanks to this, we can easily play the most popular games for Xbox on our iPhones. In addition, since iOS, iPadOS and macOS understand the connection of Xbox wireless controllers, you can start playing directly on them. Just connect the controller and hurray for action. The only condition is a stable internet connection. Previously we tried Xbox Cloud Gaming and we only have to confirm that it is a really interesting service that unlocks the world of gaming even on apple products.

Playstation

In Europe, however, the Playstation game console from the Japanese company Sony is more popular. Of course, even in this case there is also a mobile application for iOS, with the help of which you can communicate with friends, join games, create game groups and the like. In addition, it can also deal with sharing media, viewing personal statistics and activities of friends, and the like. At the same time, it also functions as a shopping platform. You can, for example, use it to browse the PlayStation Store and buy any games, instruct the console to download and install a specific title, or manage the storage remotely.

In addition to the classic applications, there is one more available, PS Remote Play, which is used for remote gaming. In this case, an iPhone or iPad can be used to play games from your library. But there is a small catch. This is not a cloud gaming service, as is the case with the aforementioned Xbox, but simply remote gaming. Your Playstation takes care of rendering a specific title, which is why it is also a condition that the console and phone/tablet are on the same network. In this, the competing Xbox clearly has the upper hand. No matter where you are in the world, you can take your iPhone and start playing using mobile data. And even without a controller. Some games are optimized for touch screens. That's what Microsoft offers with Fortnite.

What the Playstation clearly has the upper hand in, however, are the so-called exclusive titles. If you are among the fans of proper stories, then all the advantages of Xbox can go aside, because in this direction Microsoft has no way to compete. Games such as Last of Us, God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, Marvel's Spider-Man, Uncharted 4, Detroit: Become Human and many others are available on the Playstation console.

Winner

In terms of simplicity and the ability to connect with Apple products, Microsoft is the winner with its Xbox consoles, which offer a simple user interface, a great mobile application and the excellent Xbox Cloud Gaming service. On the other hand, the similar options that come with the Playstation console are more limited in this regard and simply cannot compare.

However, as we mentioned above, if exclusive titles are a priority for you, then all the benefits of the competition can go by the wayside. But that doesn't mean there aren't decent games available on Xbox. On both platforms, you will find hundreds of first-class titles that can keep you entertained for hours. However, from our point of view, Xbox appears to be a more friendly option.
