As every year, this year the Californian giant did not deprive us of new additions to its range of mobile phones. We saw both the cheaper iPhone 12 (mini) and flagships in the form of the iPhone 12 Pro (Max). In addition to a powerful processor, a perfect display and a top camera, however, the internal storage capacity is an extremely important aspect when choosing a new "Pro". Here, both the iPhone 12 Pro and the iPhone 12 Pro Max have finally moved on from last year's models, as Apple finally offers a base storage capacity of 128 GB. In today's article, we will show you which internal memory capacity you should choose.

Recapitulation of the prices of individual phones

In the above-mentioned article, in addition to the iPhone 12, we also listed the prices of last year's iPhone 11, but since Apple no longer sells last year's phones with the Pro addition, we will not focus on them now. As for the price of the iPhone 12 Pro, it starts at 29 CZK for the 990 GB version, 128 CZK for 256 GB, and 32 CZK if you choose the highest internal memory of 990 GB. For the largest and at the same time the most expensive 512 Pro Max, you will pay CZK 38 more for each capacity variant compared to its smaller sibling. Specifically, the price of the highest variant stops at a respectable 990 CZK. It should be noted that these smartphones will of course blow your wallet and there will even be those who are horrified by the prices. However, if you already know Apple's pricing policy, this probably won't surprise you. Moreover, these premium phones are by no means intended for the masses of customers.

Series, gaming or photography?

Probably none of us will buy an iPhone 12 Pro just to stream movies and music. It will probably store some games or high-quality videos in its storage, which can be up to several (dozens) of gigabytes. However, if you plan to use up the smartphone capacity in this way, 128 GB might not be enough for you - even considering that, for example, videos taken by the iPhone 12 Pro in HDR Dolby Vision mode take up a really large amount of space. Of course, it is possible to store data on an external disk, but who wants to do that these days. If you want to save a lot of power, you can use the iCloud Photos function, which can optimize the size of locally stored photos and videos.

Who is the 128 GB variant for?

iPhone 12 Pro (Max) with the lowest capacity is especially suitable for casual photographers who want to take the best possible pictures, but do not take photos on a daily basis. In this case, the space is enough for a large number of songs, as well as for a few films, series or games. Thanks to a trio of perfect cameras, machine learning and a LiDAR sensor, you can take (almost) professional pictures. In addition, the operating RAM memory is a respectable 6 GB. However, if you take photos and especially videos too often, you will find that you do not have enough space. In addition, system requirements will gradually increase, as applications and games will take up more and more storage space over time. Also, be aware that you can buy an iPhone 500 with a capacity of 12 GB for CZK 256 cheaper - so consider whether the components from it will not be enough for you.

Who is the 256 GB variant for?

As with the iPhone 12, I think the vast majority of users will be fine with the gold "capacitive" center. For flagship iPhones, it is 256 GB, which should be enough to store photos, videos, music, movies, games, applications and other data. Compared to storage with 128 GB of internal space, you only pay an extra CZK 3, which, given the relatively high price of the device itself, doesn't make that much of a difference. If you plan to use the phone for 000 years or more, however, consider that after increasing the demands of the system, you may have to limit yourself a bit, delete unnecessary files, uninstall applications and back up photos to another location. Although there are functions for saving storage in iOS, which allow you to back up to iCloud, 3 GB in the base will certainly not be enough for you, and you will logically have to pay extra for a higher storage space.

Who is the 512 GB variant for?

If photography and video recording is your passion, you want to record continuously in HDR Dolby Vision at 60 FPS and you also like to play music in lossless format, offline movies on Netflix, or are a regular gamer, you will hardly be disappointed with the 512 GB phone have to limit. I'm not saying you won't fill it up anyway, but there's no need to uninstall apps more often or delete your photo and video library. But as for the price difference, it amounts to CZK 6 more compared to the 000 GB variant and a whole CZK 256 compared to the "Pročka" with 9 GB storage. So think about how many years you plan to use the device and whether you will really be able to use the storage space.
