If you need to buy a new phone and you were tempted by the newly introduced iPhones, you must have thought about which storage capacity would be right for you. After buying the more expensive iPhone 12 Pro, you get 128 GB of internal memory, but the iPhone 12, like last year's iPhone 11, unfortunately only offers 64 GB of storage capacity in the cheapest version, which will not be enough for many users. So today we will show you how to choose storage so that you do not have to limit yourself, but at the same time so that you do not pay an unnecessarily high amount for space that you do not use.

Recapitulation of the prices of individual phones

One of the important aspects when choosing a smartphone is definitely the price. For the iPhone 12 mini in the Czech Republic, you will pay 21 CZK after choosing the 990 GB variant, 64 CZK for the 23 GB version and 490 CZK when you choose the highest storage capacity of 128 GB. iPhones 26490 in standard size are then in all cases CZK 256 more expensive. On the other hand, if last year's iPhone 12 is enough for you, Apple still offers it, and for a rather interesting amount - specifically, you will pay CZK 3 less than for the iPhone 000 mini, both in the 11 GB variant and in the higher versions . For some, CZK 3 may not be such a striking difference, even though it is a relatively high amount, but I do not think that it is negligible.

It depends on the data requirements

Each person is different, has different needs, and the capacity you should choose depends on that. If you travel often, don't have a large data package, and are used to downloading as much music, movies or photos as possible for offline use, 64 GB in the base will be really not enough for you - here I would choose between 128 and 256 GB capacity. If you only download music or photos, 128 GB might be enough for you. If you also regularly store movies or videos on the device, you will have to reach for the most expensive 256 GB variant. However, if you are one of those who tend to stream music, back up the audiovisual content you create to cloud storage, and watch series or movies at home before going to bed, you don't have to rush for the highest capacity right away.

Who is the 64 GB variant for?

With a capacity of 64 GB, those who often make phone calls, take photos for social networks, stream music and movies and probably have a large data package will be satisfied. In addition, be aware that, unlike Android devices, iOS stores photos and videos in HEIF and HEVC formats, which are significantly more economical than commonly used formats. You can also activate storage saving in iOS, when the original size of your photos is backed up to iCloud and you only have the lower quality media available on your device. However, think about how long you will be using your blanket. If you want to own a smartphone for 3 years or more, 64 GB may no longer be enough due to the data requirements of the system and the larger volume of applications and games. After a long time, you will have to tidy up the device, uninstall applications and delete individual photos and videos – so you will lose the comfort of using the phone.

Who is the 128 GB variant for?

I would say that this choice is a kind of golden mean. The price difference here is not that significant, and if you plan to use the phone for more than 3 years, you will find out yourself that the reserve will come in handy. If you're not an avid photographer, you'll have room for individual photos, and you'll have room for a relatively large amount of music or a few movies. At the same time, you won't have to limit yourself significantly when downloading applications and games - the games themselves often take up several (tens) GB of storage, so you will be able to have most of them installed at once.

Who is the 256 GB variant for?

If you are an audiophile who downloads music in high-quality format for offline listening, or if you need to constantly watch series, then the 256 GB variant is the ideal choice for you. On the other hand, the price difference here is not insignificant - 3000 CZK more compared to the 128 GB variant, i.e. 6 CZK compared to 000 GB. This highest available variant will easily cover the needs of most users, and without the need to limit it, it resists any regard for order. The 64 GB variant is therefore difficult for most of us to fill, and I honestly think that demanding users who need a 256 GB variant would rather reach for the iPhone 256 Pro in the 12 GB or 256 GB variant.
