The iPhone X will be available for pre-order next Friday, with the first lucky ones receiving it a week after. It is expected that there will be a fierce battle for the first pieces, as there should be a relatively significant shortage of phones. It can be expected that the first available models will be gone really quickly. It will be very interesting to see how we will fare here in the Czech Republic, if it will even be possible to catch a fresh iPhone X in our conditions. This morning, news broke that the first batch of finished phones had made their way to Apple's central warehouses around the world.

Specifically, it is a warehouse in Holland and the United Arab Emirates. It should be a shipment that contains 46 phones to each of these two destinations. However, according to information from abroad, it is said to be only a fraction of what Apple usually stocks before the start of sales. It is true that there are still two weeks left until the start of distribution, but no one expects a smooth start of sales. The news came out of Asia last week that Foxconn managed to increase weekly production from 500 to 100 iPhones per week. However, this will certainly not be enough, as it is widely expected that forty to fifty million customers will order the new iPhone X by the end of the year.

All the assumptions of foreign analysts and "insiders" count on the fact that problems with availability will last until the middle of the following year, that is, until the middle of the life cycle of the phone itself. If this actually happens, it will be the first time in the brand's history that the company has not been able to meet demand so long after a product has been released.

Many skeptical users think that all the information about the shortage of manufactured phones is just a PR stunt by Apple, which aims to entice as many customers as possible to pre-order the new phone. Personally, I believe that this is not the case, as all the analysts and reporters who have been writing about it in recent months would also have to go in this "PR event". I think that in a fortnight it will become clear how (very) bad the availability of the iPhone X will be. Those who wait with their orders will probably have to wait a few months.
