The iPhone display has been addressed more and more in recent years. Technologies are constantly moving forward, and Apple is under pressure primarily from the competition, which implements panels with a higher refresh rate even in much cheaper models. Thanks to this, the picture is smoother, which is reflected in more pleasant playing games or watching multimedia. This year, the iPhone 120 Pro and 13 Pro Max models should receive a 13Hz display. Next year, the technology will be extended to all models, including the basic ones.

This is what the iPhone 13 Pro could look like (yield):

The arrival of a display with a 120Hz refresh rate has been talked about for several months. This year, however, this option will be limited only to the Pro series. In addition, Apple tasked its suppliers accordingly. Samsung will produce the LTPO displays for the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max, with mass production reportedly starting in May, while LG will produce the LTPS panels for the iPhone 13 and 13 mini.

With the iPhone 14, even more changes will come. Now Apple offers four models with 5,4″, 6,1″ and 6,7″ diagonals. In the case of next year's Apple phones, however, it should be a little different. The giant from Cupertino is preparing to present 4 models again, but this time only in two sizes – i.e. 6,1″ and 6,7″. According to the latest information from the Korean portal The Elec, LG should then reorient its production from cheaper LTPS panels to displays with a 120Hz refresh rate, which clearly points to the fact that even entry-level models will receive this friendly gadget.

iPhone SE with a hole punch
Would you like a punch instead of a cutout?

At the same time, there is talk of a fairly drastic design change that could come with the mentioned iPhone 14. The appearance of Apple phones, or their fronts, has practically not changed at all since the introduction of the iPhone X (2017). Apple could, however, switch to a simpler cut-out instead of the upper cut-out, which, by the way, is strongly criticized by Apple users as well. Respected analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has previously discussed that some iPhone 14 models will offer this change.
