Many people claim that Apple has no right to judge Samsung, because its Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet does not copy the not so successful Apple iPad 2. But the truth is that the developers of the South Korean giant were at least inspired by the iPad, as other manufacturers do. Just look at the following great infographic…
It shows what the world of tablets looked like before the iPad hit the market, and what tablets looked like in the so-called "post-iPad" period. Do you see the resemblance? Before, every tablet had a Windows operating system and a stylus, now it's all glass-covered slabs that are controlled by fingers, and the pioneer is clear.

On the other hand, Apple just copied the digital frame and enlarged it. And that would be a patent battle;0) Ipad vs. Digital frame!
Duly copied article :-) http://osxdaily.com/2011/08/18/tablet-design-before-after-the-ipad/
Doesn't that source down there tell you anything?
Well, it's a coincidence that all tablets after the iPad look almost the same!
Too bad the haters of the Apple brand don't recognize that…
By the way, HP TERMINATED WEBOS DEVELOPMENT...ipad gave it such a blow that it didn't recover...check online
The gospel truth. Could someone from the editors write a similar article this time for the period before and after the iPhone? That would be interesting too.
I've had the article... in the breakdown phase... for over a year now :/
Finish :)
Perhaps I would just mention - HP presented, even if only a prototype drive, rather than Apple (even if the production of current tablets was started by Apple ;-) So would HP have copied the black frame according to the iPad before the "legendary" tablet saw the light of day? Well of course.. ;-)) http://www.diit.cz/data/images/thumb/61605_c3eda7bdda.jpg?1272956662
And not just a prototype...

If you scroll down, you'll find that other small companies have outpaced Apple by nearly two years. And it's not one of those funny things with an ear shown here, but a classic flat "photo frame".
But Apple has had an industrial model for tablets since about 2007, so it's still before the introduction of "tablets" that you present Stepaan and what Mellow presents.
2004;)
And does the Apple Newton MessagePad tell you something? Work on it already began in 1987, presented in 1993 and completed in 1998.
And by industrial design do you mean the pencil drawing? I agree that Samsung is exaggerating. It not only copies the look, but also the product photos and even the product photos of the accessories. On the other hand… How else should modern tablets the hell look? :-YES here I really think that Apple should not have received the patent then. And as you can see, he's serious about that look, and he's filing lawsuits everywhere you look. Samsung, Motorola, who's next? Lately, I really think that in Cupertino they have a real fear of competition, so they try to sweeten it like this.
But the Newton was much closer to PDAs than tablets. That's really too much... :-D
I think you just have to look at the connector that Samsung uses. Doesn't it remind you of the 30-pin Apple Dock connector? I'd say this bit about the copying pretty much says it all...
Well, the Samsung connector is standard, it was first used in a Dell tablet, then other companies. If you looked at tablets from Asus, Acer, you would find similar coenctors there, but similar to Apple, they are proprietary and not standard like App.
like Samsung.
That picture says it all – Samsung et al. they are poor plagiarists without an iota of their own invention. If it weren't for Apple, everyone would still be fooling around with those non-functioning things that were before the iPad. Apple should be praised and thanked every day by all those bootleg copycats around the world, because without Apple there would be no Samsung Galaxy and other imitations.
It's the same in the field of touch phones, where the iPhone was revolutionary, groundbreaking, since then everyone has been copying it and always waiting for what Apple will come up with so that they have something else to copy, produce and then come up with those very clever "innovations".-)
It's hard to believe that someone doesn't see what's in plain sight...
Yes I agree. The iPhone WAS REVOLUTIONARY! Phones before it and after it were never the same. But that, please, apple people, is the last revolution that took place. Everything else is just EVOLUTION. It's just a natural progression of things. And I'm really sorry, but ONLY Apple was not involved in the subsequent events.
For illustration, I am sending the world's first tablet ;-)
