Meditation and relaxation applications are truly blessed in the App Store, but it is a little worse with applications of Czech origin. Among the handful of Czech applications that will help you relax and unwind is Calmio, which we will take a closer look at in today's article.

Appearance

After signing up (Calmio now also supports Sign in with Apple), the app takes you through a short survey to find out what you want to use Calmio for. Here you can also choose which voice to accompany you during the meditation, and you will receive brief instructions to make the meditation as comfortable and effective as possible, followed by an instructional video. After the video, Calmio will step by step guide you through the first meditation lesson. The meditation lesson screen consists of a start button, a time indicator, and an indication of how long the meditation will last. You can pause or end the meditation at any time by tapping the cross in the upper right corner. In the main menu you will find a list of courses, from the upper right corner you can click through to the details of your profile.

Function

Calmio offers exactly what it promises - simple, effective and purely Czech meditation. You start with the basic course, but you can switch to any other course at any time in the application. Before starting each course, you can choose your preferred voice (female - Victoria, or male - Libor). Calmio offers both classic meditation and programs aimed at better sleep, calming the mind or better concentration.

Finally

The Calmio application is very simple, both in its user interface and in its functions and options. The number and content of all "sessions" is constant and unchanging, users do not have the option to choose courses of different length, change the appearance of the application or perform other customizations. However, the individual courses are well-recorded, enjoyable and effective, and Calmio is also completely free, with no in-app purchases and no subscription required. It is especially suitable for those who prefer the Czech language when relaxing, as well as for those who are just starting out with meditation and applications such as Calm or Headspace are too complicated or time-consuming for them.
