Apple today presented iOS 8.1, which has already been tested by developers in recent weeks. The first decimal update for the new mobile operating system released a month ago, it brings back some functions that originally disappeared from iOS 8, and at the same time launches two new services - Apple Pay and, in beta version, iCloud Photo Library. iOS 8.1 will be released on October 20.
Craig Federighi, senior vice president of software, admitted that Apple has been listening to its users, which has resulted in return Camera Roll folder in the Pictures app. Her original removal caused great confusion. Photos also concern the launch of the beta version of the iCloud Photo Library service, which Apple finally dropped from the first version of iOS 8 a month ago.
At the same time, together with iOS 8.1, Apple will launch its new payment service Apple Pay, all on Monday, October 20.
At the same time, iOS 8.1 is expected to bring a number of fixes, as the first days and weeks of the new mobile operating system were far from without problems. First, the update caused major complications iOS 8.0.1, which subsequently Apple had to solve with a version iOS 8.0.2. At the same time significantly reduced speed adoption of the new system, only less than half of active users currently use it.
I don't understand the introduction of the iCloud Photo Library beta function, it's probably been here since 8.02, right? or at least I have it on my iPhone and iPad... did I miss something?
I don't really understand it either...
The sharp version of the photo gallery (iCloud Photo Library) will be available at the beginning of 2015. The beta version will be available now.
I understand that, but why do they give it as a new 8.1 when I already have it today. That's what this thread is about.
Try turning it on. It won't work for you. He will start from Monday.
It's been running for me since 8.0.2 :-)
" ...currently only less than half of active users use it." JEN? really??? In the keynote, Apple boasted that in 26 days ALREADY(!!!) 48% of users switched to iOS8, unlike only 25% of Android KitKat users introduced 313 days ago. I think the editor should take a closer look at it before he starts writing more "credible" articles.
iOS 7 had better numbers, hence "just". This year they caused it by complications with the iOS 8 installation (I also ran, I installed in the first hour, I had a broken brick from the iP5, so I downgraded and lost data - which has never happened to me in the last 5 years with an iP), people hesitate to update.
If you don't fix the broken wifi, I'm going to let them beat the ipad over the head!
And guys, you know that iOS 8 does not have a Czech corrector or prediction for the QuickType keyboard.

Yosemite is great at dictating in Czech, but it also doesn't have a proofreader. Or it wasn't in beta and couldn't be downloaded.
Does anyone have a different experience?
