Apple today released the final version of its new mobile operating system, iOS 8, which is now available for download to all users who own the iPhone 4S and later, iPad 2 and later, and the fifth-generation iPod touch. It is possible to update directly from the mentioned iOS devices.

Similar to previous years, when Apple's servers could hardly resist the huge rush of users, there will again be a lot of interest in downloading iOS 8, so it is possible that the update to the latest system will not go so smoothly in the next few hours.

At the same time, you need to prepare for the large amount of free space that iOS 8 requires for its installation. Although the installation package is only hundreds of megabytes, it requires up to several gigabytes of free space for unpacking and installation.

The new version of iOS does not bring such significant graphical changes as last year's iOS 7, however, it is this system that iOS 8 significantly improves and brings many interesting novelties. On the surface, iOS 8 remains the same, but Apple engineers significantly played with the "innards".

The integration of all Apple devices has been significantly improved, not only mobile ones, but much better now iPhones and iPads also communicate with Macs. However, these must run on OS X Yosemite. Interactive notifications, widgets in the Notification Center have also been added, and for developers and finally users, the significant opening of the entire system, which Apple carried out in June at WWDC, is key.

Developer tools for Touch ID have been made available to developers, which now do not have to be used only for unlocking the phone, users will have several alternative keyboards for more comfortable typing, and a fundamental innovation for using applications is the possibility of so-called extensions, thanks to which it will be possible to connect applications between much easier than ever before.

At the same time, iOS 8 includes the Health application, which will collect health and fitness data from various applications and devices and then present them to the user in a comprehensive form. Basic applications such as Messages, Camera and Mail have been improved. iOS 8 also includes iCloud Drive, Apple's new cloud storage that competes with, for example, Dropbox.

The new iOS 8 will also be included with the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, which go on sale in the first countries on Friday, September 19.
