New Notifications, Messages, Photos, Maps or removal of system applications. All this and much more is offered by the tenth version of the operating system for mobile devices from Apple. After three months of active use, we can state that there has never been a more stable and functional iOS. Apple took great care to ensure that all the new products it presented in June were fine-tuned to the last detail. On the other hand, some changes and improvements can be quite confusing at first.
If you use an iPhone 6S, iPhone SE, or if you will soon get a new "seven", you will notice a significant change at the first touch. Apple has added the Raise to Wake function to phones with the M9 coprocessor, thanks to which it is enough to take the phone in your hand or tilt it slightly and it will immediately turn on by itself, without the need to press any button. In addition, in iOS 10, Apple has completely reshaped years of habits of how iPhones and iPads are unlocked and what our first interaction with them is when we pick them up.
Owners of the latest iPhones with the faster Touch ID of the second generation often complained about too fast unlocking, when it was not even possible to record incoming notifications after placing a finger. This problem is solved on the one hand by the Raise to Wake function and on the other hand by the changed functioning of the locked screen in iOS 10. After almost ten years, the iconic unlocking by swiping the screen, which was usually followed by the ability to enter a numerical code, has completely disappeared.
But the numerical code is no longer in use today. Apple is - logically and sensibly - pushing the use of Touch ID as much as possible, so iPhones and iPads with iOS 10 rely mainly on your fingerprint for unlocking (this is also understandable because only four devices that support iOS 10 do not have Touch ID). Only if Touch ID does not recognize the fingerprint, it will offer you a code.
But that's not all. You can now stay on the locked screen even after unlocking. This means that you just put your finger to Touch ID and the small lock in the top bar in the middle will unlock. At that point, you can perform many more actions on the already unlocked "lock screen". In order to get to the main screen with icons, you not only need to put your finger to unlock, but also press the Home button. But you may not want to do this press right away, because the already unlocked lock screen can finally be used much more effectively in iOS 10.
Widgets and notifications
When you swipe from right to left on the lock screen, the camera will launch. Until now, it was "extended" from the lower right corner using an icon, but it has now acquired the gesture previously used to unlock the iPhone, as described above. If you flick to the other side, you'll come across widgets that Apple separated from notifications in iOS 10 and finally gave them more meaning.
Widgets in iOS 10 are very similar to the Android operating system. Individual "bubbles", which have become more rounded and given a touch of milky glass, can be rearranged and new ones added if the application supports them. Since widgets are now available truly instantly right from the lock screen, it adds a whole new dimension to using them, and within a few weeks you'll likely be embracing them far more than you ever did in iOS 9.
Thanks to widgets, you can have a quick overview of the weather, calendar, battery status, or you can easily play music or dial a favorite contact. All you have to do is pick up the iPhone, which will turn on by itself, and then just swipe your finger to the right. In addition, the aforementioned information is offered in system applications or widgets by both Apple and third-party developers, who often present even greater functionality. It is not a problem to manage your tasks from the widgets or to check the status of exhausted data with the operator.
Notifications, whose Notification Center you can still call up by swiping your finger from the top edge of the display, have undergone a similar transformation. After all, in the Notification Center you will find the same widgets as on the lock screen, and you can access the third one by swiping to the left on the main page, where previously only Spotlight was located. Widgets are in three places in iOS 10, but they offer exactly the same thing everywhere, which is perhaps a bit of a shame.
But back to the notifications, which have also rounded up and acquired the same shape as widgets, in addition, they are also able to adjust their size flexibly to the content. Each notification has an icon with the name of the application, the time of receipt and the content itself. The news does not end there: the biggest one is, however, closely linked to 3D Touch, which Apple began to significantly expand across the entire system.
At the same time, it is related to the unlockable lock screen, because if it is unlocked, it means that you can continue working with notifications straight away. Press harder to open a quick preview and easily respond to an incoming iMessage, for example. 3D Touch allows you to preview the entire conversation without having to go further into the system and open the Messages app.
The mentioned intertwining with 3D Touch is important because if you don't have this technology (which is still the vast majority of users who can install iOS 10), the experience of the new notifications in iOS 10 is hardly half-baked. A stronger press also works for notifications received during normal operation, not only on the locked screen, and the ability to view, for example, a conversation from Messages just as another layer above the currently opened application, quickly reply, and then immediately return to the original work, is very effective.
However, if you don't have 3D Touch, you have to flick the notification bubble to the left and then click on show. The result is then the same as when you use the aforementioned 6D Touch on the iPhone 7S and 3, but not nearly as convincing. However, it is also proof that Apple is still counting on 3D Touch, even if third-party developers may not have adopted it as much as it had hoped. Now it will be even more desirable for developers not to be afraid and deploy 3D Touch, even if in the case of notifications it is more about implementing a quick preview, 3D Touch will then work automatically. It will be disappointing if the benefits are limited to just a few default apps.
Upgraded Control Center
After unlocking your phone - when you can already have a lot of things sorted out in iOS 10, as mentioned above - you will traditionally find yourself on the main page with icons that have remained unchanged. You will only come across the changes in the Control Center, which again slides out from the bottom of the display, but now offers more tabs, which you can switch between by swiping your finger left or right. The main, middle card remains the same with the buttons for controlling Wi-Fi, rotation lock, brightness, etc., the only thing new is Night Mode control and the possibility to use 3D Touch again.
With a stronger press, you can activate three different flashlight modes: bright light, medium light or dim light. With the stopwatch, you can quickly turn on a one-minute, five-minute, twenty-minute or one-hour countdown. The calculator can copy the last calculated result for you via 3D Touch, and you can start different modes faster in the camera. Unfortunately, for functions such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, a more detailed menu is still missing after a stronger press.
Especially avid music listeners will be interested in a new card that has settled to the right of the main one and brings control buttons for music. On the card you can see not only what is currently playing, but you can also choose the output device. Control buttons got their own card mainly for more efficient management, which is convenient. Additionally, iOS 10 remembers where you left Control Center, so if you frequently access it just to control your music, you'll always find yourself in that tab.
Aimed at a younger target group
At June's WWDC, Apple devoted a lot of space to completely redesigned Messages. Apple developers were greatly inspired by competing communication platforms such as Facebook Messenger or Snapchat, which are increasingly popular. Therefore, in iOS 10, your iMessage conversation does not have to be static and without effects, as it was before. Here, Apple is clearly targeting the younger generations, who are used to supplementing their messages with various effects from Messenger and Snapchat.
You can now paint or write on the photos taken or use various animations and other effects. When you hold down the button while sending an iMessage, you will be offered several options to send the message: as a bubble, loudly, softly, or as invisible ink. For some, it may seem childish at first glance, but Apple knows very well what works on Facebook or Snapchat.
If it wasn't enough for you that the bubble with the message arrives at the recipient with, for example, a bang effect, you can supplement it with full-screen flying balloons, confetti, laser, fireworks or a comet. For a more intimate experience, you can send a heartbeat or a kiss, which we know from Watch. In iOS 10, you can also instantly react directly to individual message bubbles, with a heart, thumbs up or down, exclamation marks or question marks. There are so many options for interaction. In addition, the system keyboard can itself replace the text with more playful emojis. And last but not least, handwritten messages can also be sent, which is even better on the iPhone than on the watch.
Finally, the sending of classic photos has also been improved, where a live preview appears in the panel instead of the keyboard, in which you can immediately take a photo and send it, as well as the last photo taken from the library. To bring up a full-fledged camera or open the entire library, you need to press the inconspicuous arrow on the left.
However, Apple went further with the development - and once again took inspiration from Messenger. As a significant novelty, the App Store for iMessage appears, from which you can download various applications that are integrated directly into Apple's communication platform. As expected, apps can add various GIFs, emoticons and images to your conversation, but using them can be much more effective.
Thanks to third-party applications, it will be easy to use a translator directly in Messages, send links to favorite movies or even pay. Developers are now shipping one app after another, and it remains to be seen what potential the App Store holds for iMessage. But it's definitely big. The developer base is a big strength of Apple and we can already see dozens, maybe hundreds of apps in the App Store for iMessage. We will bring experience from their use in the next article, for now there was not enough space to test them.
Photos or likeness with Google Photos purely random
Apple was inspired not only by Messenger, but also by Google Photos. In iOS 10, you'll find a completely redesigned Photos app that offers a number of user-friendly improvements. First and foremost, Photos is smarter because it's learned to do a lot more sorting and searching, including face recognition. In Albums, you will find the People folder, where you have photos of your friends in one place.
A new Memories tab has appeared directly in the bottom bar, where the application presents you with automatically created "memories" albums. For example, you will come across the albums "Amsterdam 2016", "The best of the last two weeks", etc. The photos will then create a short film for you in each album, made up of the collected photos. You can choose what music plays in the background and how fast the browsing should be.
In addition to the photos and videos themselves, each Memory also contains a map and a list of people who are in the album. If you don't like the offered Memory, you can delete it or add it to your favorites.
Of course, you will find the same functions on the Mac, where the updated Photos will arrive in a week with the new macOS Sierra. It's obvious that Apple copied from the competition in many ways, but that's not surprising. Users want exactly such functions. They don't want to delay making any albums. Many will welcome it when Fotky itself offers them a collection of vacation shots, which they can then pleasantly reminisce about thanks to the film. The user only needs to take pictures and take pictures, the smart software will take care of the rest.
Apple also continues to work on better keyword searches. It's not perfect yet, but try searching for things like "car" or "sky". You will usually find the right results there, and it is, after all, the direction Apple is taking in many other products, where machine learning and smart algorithms come into play. Moreover, in this respect, Apple tries to differentiate itself from Google and wants to to guarantee users the maximum possible privacy despite the scanning of their data.
Focused on travel
Apple Maps took a huge step forward in iOS 10, which is still more than desirable, although now Apple Maps is not nearly as much of a fiasco as it was in its early days. At the beginning of August, Apple to its Maps added complete data on Prague public transport. The capital thus became the third European city in which Maps reports the availability of data on public transport and the possibility of starting navigation using trains, trams, buses or the metro. In iOS 10, there is also a redesigned graphical interface and many useful improvements.
For example, you can add points of interest during your navigation and route planning. Thanks to this, you will get an overview of gas stations, refreshments or accommodation. The function of automatically saving the place where you parked your car is also handy, which can really come in handy wherever you park.
In the Czech Republic, the experience from Apple Maps will never be as perfect as, for example, in the United States, but the constant improvement in presenting information about the state of traffic, closures or accidents already provides a relatively good experience for the Czech traveler as well. Connecting Maps to services like Uber is the future, where you can find your favorite restaurant, book a place in it and order a ride within a single application.
In recent months, we can watch an extremely interesting battle between Apple and Google, whose maps the iPhone manufacturer abandoned years ago in favor of its own. Very regular updates for both map systems show how much businesses care about this part of the ecosystem. In many ways, Apple is still catching up with Google, but its Maps are increasingly proactive and try to take a slightly different path in some ways. In iOS 10, Apple Maps are just a hair better and we can look forward to further development.
Sleep overview and minor improvements
In addition to major changes, iOS 10 is traditionally full of many smaller improvements. For example, Večerka is a novelty in the Clock system application, which, based on the set alarm clock, will notify you in time when you should go to bed, so that you get the required number of hours of sleep. Someone who likes to get stuck in front of the TV, for example, may find a similar notification useful.
In addition, Večerka can transfer simple sleep data to the Health application, but it only uses your manual settings for falling asleep and waking up, so you won't get very relevant data. It is better to use other devices or applications that also work with Health to measure and analyze sleep. In addition, in iOS 10 you will also get several new sounds that the alarm clock can use to wake you up.
But we still have to stay with the sounds. A new tone appeared when locking the device and the keyboard. You'll notice the changes right away, but you'll probably get used to it just as quickly, it's not a radical change, but the sounds are still what you'd expect in the given situation. It is much more important in iOS 10, the option to delete system apps, which users have been calling for for a long time.
For example, Tips, Compass or Find Friends can disappear from your desktop (or a separate folder, where traditionally all unused system applications were clustered). It is not possible to delete all of them, because other functions in iOS are linked to them (essential ones such as Photos, Messages, Camera, Safari or Clock must remain), but you can delete up to twenty of them in total. They can now be uploaded from the App Store. In iOS 10, you will no longer come across separate Game Center applications, the game environment remains only integrated in games.
System Mail has also received improvements, especially from the point of view of filtering and searching. It can now group messages by thread. This makes it easier to navigate long conversations. Quick filtering is also new, for example you can display only unread messages or just an attachment with one tap, and all this without a lengthy search. Safari, on the other hand, can open an unlimited number of tabs.
When turning on/off individual applications or when unlocking the iPhone, you will certainly notice a completely new animation that is clear not even for a second. It is about quickly zooming in or zooming out of the given application. Again, just a slight cosmetic change that characterizes the arrival of a new system.
Perhaps the biggest change of all, however, was the Music application, in which Apple, after an often embarrassing first year, partly remodelled the functioning of its music streaming service Apple Music. We have already written about the fact that these are clearly changes for the better.
Smart home in one place
Speaking of uninstalling apps, there's a brand new one to mention. In iOS 10, Apple deploys the Home app, which houses the future of our ever-smarter homes. Within a single application, it will be possible to control the entire smart home, from lights to garage doors to thermostats. An increasing number of accessories and products with support for the HomeKit protocol are beginning to flow onto the market, which you can use with the new Home application.
Proof that Apple (and 100% not only) sees the future in the smart home is confirmed by the fact that the Home application has also been allocated a separate tab in the Control Center. As mentioned above, in addition to the main control buttons and the music card, if you use Home, you will find one more card, to the left of the main one, where you can very quickly turn on the lights or close the blinds.
HomeKit has been around for a while, with iOS 10 now fully supporting it, so it's just up to third-party manufacturers to release as many compatible products as possible. In our country, their availability is not yet as we would like, but the situation is definitely improving.
Speed and stability
We've been testing the developer version of iOS 10 since its early days, and surprisingly, even in the early stages, we've seen very few errors and bugs. The last beta versions were already maximally stable, and in the last, practically final version, everything is already fully debugged. Installing the very first sharp version of iOS 10, which was released today, should most likely not bring any significant problems. On the contrary, it is one of the most stable iOS ever. Third-party developers have also worked on compatibility, and at the moment dozens of updates are heading to the App Store.
Thanks to iOS 10, the first generation of Touch ID on older devices also got a noticeable acceleration and better functioning, which for us was actually one of the most pleasant new features of the iPhone 6 Plus. Evidently, it is not only a matter of hardware, but the fingerprint reader can also be improved in terms of software.
Finally, we should also mention the smallest news, which, however, complete the entire experience of iOS 10. It is now possible to edit Live Photos, Safari can open two windows in Split View on the iPad, and multiple users can work in Notes at the same time. The new mobile operating system can transcribe voicemail messages into text, and the icing on the cake is the full availability of the Siri voice assistant for developers, where everything will only be revealed in the coming months. However, it is still not so interesting for the Czech user.
You can download iOS 10 starting today for iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4 and later, iPad mini 2 and iPod touch 6th generation, and owners of the latest devices in particular should have nothing to worry about. A stable system awaits them with a lot of changes that concern even the most experienced habits.
So iTunes doesn't see my phone at all after the 12.5.1 update. Has this happened to anyone else?
I don't even have the guts to update my iPhone SE :-(
SE update big fiasco. he wants itunes, they keep downloading and downloading…
just download the current version of iTunes. it's not a fiasco. :D
:-) thanks, that's what I did, it only helped after several restores...
C:Program FilesCommon FilesAppleMobile Device SupportDrivers and right click on the file "usbaapl64.inf" It reinstalls the driver and it runs.
I just had an update crash on both my iPhone 5SE and iPad Pro. Both downloaded, started updating, and finally got a black screen and forced a restore via PC connection with iTunes. Well, Apple really failed :( I'm downloading the 2GB update for the second time to my computer and we'll see what happens... :((((
That's rough, in our family 5 iOS devices updated via wifi and all quickly and without problems. I think it's because the servers are overloaded.
It's a worldwide problem. I'm in it too (6S). But as I learned, there is no guarantee that itunes will be able to break it up. Then try restoring the iPhone. Because if I understand correctly, it deletes the entire iPhone.... Could someone explain it here?
If it really freezes and requires recovery via iTunes, that's right, it erases the entire device, which can then be set up as a new one and subsequently restored from iCloud, or if you have a backup in iTunes, it will download it from there.
hell .. I don't have photos and videos backed up .. (of course, I'm a moron, but that's another matter.)
On the contrary, you made the mistake. If instead of a failed update, for example, your phone fell, who would you blame? Newton? Gravity? People are divided into 2 groups: The first ones who back up and the second ones who still need their data
she didn't come Take it as a lesson learned.
I've personally downloaded iPad Pro (large), iPad Mini 2, and iPhone 6 with no problems. The rest are running on developer beta, but it's a worldwide problem anyway. It does this to random users and Apple is probably working on a fix. If you don't have it yet, it's better to wait until tomorrow...
You are not alone. It took me two hours to download the update, only to end up having to download it again via itunes.
For now, I prefer to wait for more reactions. I'm not worried about the iPad Pro 9.7-inch update, I'm more curious if anyone has experience with iOS 10 on the iPhone 5.
Updated iPhone 5 via wifi. Everything was done fairly quickly and without any problems. Also iPhone SE with the same result. It even seems that even though the update was bigger, it happened faster on the SE.
Iphone 5S without problems since Beta 4
The iPhone 5s update went through without any problems. After every update I restart my phone and for the first time in my iPhone life I got a blue screen for a few moments but everything is fine.
As for the system itself, the speed feels identical, if not better. Lots of interesting things, but the system seems "dirty", but maybe that's just my subjective opinion (I still can't come to terms with the font). The idea of widgets is interesting, but here the 5s is telling me it's high time to upgrade my iPhone.
Addendum. The battery seems to be the same or even better. I have a complaint about Apple Music. I had no problem with the previous design. I don't like this one. Those capital letters are calling to heaven.
The speed seems really exemplary for a 3 year old device. I believe that it will move forward with subsequent updates and the 5s will live peacefully on iOS 10.
So, on my iP5, it's perfectly fine. downloaded in about 35 minutes, then about 5-10 minutes updating or however long it ran. so far I like the changes and I don't see any problems.
It just wouldn't update iTunes, I just had to download the whole thing from their site again and reinstall. but I consider that a detail.
I know iOS 10 came out tonight and it's too early to review iOS 10 battery usage, but after a week it would be good to add this data to this article.
I tested iOS 10 on the developer beta for three months (iPhone 6S Plus, briefly also 5S). The first betas were not much, but the second and third were no problems at all. I'm currently on GM developer, which has the same build as the public one, so let it sit for two or three days and you'll see that it's completely problem-free, on the contrary, it should be better than iOS 9.
Thanks for the reply.
For what, after all, he didn't write anything specific.
Me too and I don't notice any SIGNIFICANT improvement. Get over it already. Or buy an Alligator, it will last a week.
Jesus again, the battery, it is always solved and it is always the same. It's just constantly driving from outlet to outlet. Ever since I've been using a phone with an operating system, I've been taking a charger to work because it just doesn't last all day. And if any version takes +/- a few minutes, I really don't know and no one does. It's just bullshit for discussions.
What else to say
I mean, I quite liked the headphones, but as I see it now, it's quite a joke. It looks like a joke. I immediately imagined him as well as in his nose :)
on some ipads/iphones there was a bug where the device required to connect to itunes .. already fixed it :)

iP6s Plus without a problem. I can only dream how they dug up the Music app again. Can someone tell me how to sort the songs alphabetically according to the song name and not the author name? I don't see it anywhere at all.
It's in Settings – Music – Track and Album Sorting
Thanks!
I type the astonishment almost negative, because I haven't seen anything more appalling in a long time.
6s update via Wi-Fi, all without problems, done in about 40 minutes, everything is running as it should so far, it seems fast to me. Satisfaction!
It bothers me that the notifications are not sorted by applications, but by time. Don't you know if it can be set? It used to be in settings - notifications, but now it's gone.
And I also noticed while writing this post (I haven't had the chance to write anything yet) that if I switch the keyboard to different characters (key 123), for example after using punctuation, the keyboard no longer automatically switches to letters, that would also be nice to have back .
It seems that wejk doesn't work on ip6? Why exactly? I've had Beta for about a hundred years now, but I noticed this yesterday
Because it needs the M9 coprocessor which is in 6S and above. But it seems as strange to me as life photos with SE
for what reason would M8 not be enough? Oh, because Apple.
Installation without a problem. Quick response. However, the health app is a total flop and so is the music with its giant letters. Otherwise pretty good
What don't you like about Health?
The update to the 6S went smoothly. I just noticed that map, messenger or whatapp sounds completely different from the standard notification sound? Don't know if it can be changed?
I think there is an error on the application side
I did a hard reset on the phone and it's fine now.
The update took place without any problems on 2 devices... but does anyone know how to turn off the activation of "voice over" when the button is pressed for a long time?
with a short press it doesn't unlock and wants a password...with a longer press it "removes the thumb" and unlocks, but starts the voice over application...(5S). I can't find it in the menu, thanks.
Settings/general/accessibility/homebutton (in the Czech version perhaps under the name desktop button)/at the bottom you have an option that, if you check it, just turn on the display and hold your finger on Touch ID, the iPhone will then unlock. I have it in English and the option is called "Rest finger to unlock", so in Czech it will be something like "hold to unlock"
Now I tried it and it's "Activate with finger." And it works, thanks for the tip :)
thank you, this is how it works… thanks for the tip ;-)
The Music app did not make me very happy. The clumsy interface and the impossibility of starting music directly from the list of artists forced me to dust off the good old Ecoute.
they should kick someone in the balls for that unlocking…. on the ipad to shit..
It also annoys me on the iPhone 5. You need to press the button twice - which has worked well for me so far.. so maybe I'm not using it, just for unlocking..
Settings, general, accessibility, home button, activate by attaching - that's all
This option is not available on devices without TouchID.
iPhone 5 noticeably slowed down after upgrade. I unlock by pressing the home button twice - is there no other way? :( And Clash Royale game became almost unplayable :((
Settings > General > Accessibility > Surfaces button > Activate with finger touch
It is written about on almost every page about iPhones, just read.
I'm on iOS 10 some Friday (developer preview) and the iPhone 5 is pretty cool, subjectively it seems faster than iOS 9 and even the betas were stable
Truth. It was some kind of temporary status after the upgrade. Now the phone is quite fast again. Even e-mails are now displayed in a more "whole" way and viewing them is more pleasant... And what made me very happy, the game I mentioned is back in order, playable.
I'm glad it got fixed, if it didn't, I'd probably reinstall :-(
Thanks :) Well, it's true that I haven't reinstalled since I bought it.
Actually, I just keep upgrading, and the phone still works like a miracle.. I have to put it down to iOS.
And is there a new/next version "developer preview" (I ask completely unfamiliar with this area)? Or was v10 the last for iPhone 5?
I also unlearned the same thing on Apple products. At first I kept doing a clean install and then I found out that it's useless...
Developer Preview is a beta released for developers, i.e. they release the developer beta, then they release the public beta. It's interesting that they didn't release the GM (Gold Master or whatever it's called) version which is supposed to be in front of the sharp, but that's a detail. I went to the developer preview because I have a developer account and mainly I've been solving some iPhone 5 and iOS problems with Apple for about a year and they let me test it in the Developer Preview and since people didn't scold me, I gave it and since then I've been using it and on and on I'm reporting to Apple that they haven't fixed it... I'm thinking about an iPhone 7 right now, so I'm going to go "sharp" after upgrading my phone and overwrite the old one with ofiko 10.0.1
Thank you for the information.
Admittedly, I'm also considering an upgrade. Especially when Alza and Datart are now offering installments with no increase on the already discounted 6s. But what endurance is, on the one hand, an advantage of Apple products, is on the other hand also a subject for "dissatisfaction". It's when the phone just holds and there's not such a significant reason to buy a new machine :-)) I'm experiencing the same thing with the Macbook, which has only a few scratches, and tens of minutes minus the battery life, after replacing it with an SSD it's faster than when I bought it. In 2010.
So the Developer Preview doesn't apply to me right now. If I come across a public beta in the future and it still works for the iPhone 5, I'll give it a try.
You're welcome. Hmm, I'm more satisfied, even if it annoys me that MacOS Sierra will no longer run on the 2008 MBP :-/ Hopefully at least the security updates will continue for a while, the laptop works and the wife is satisfied with it... It's true that 8 years with one laptop and that's what I'm riding on it these days, it's very decent (I only bought an SSD, a few times a battery and I swapped in a DVD Rom)... It's really a bomb thing. Or maybe it will work somehow unofficially :-)
I wonder how long the iPhone 5 will be supported. I assume that iOS 10 is already final, although perhaps iOS 10 is also on the 4S, so I reckon that 11 could still be given, but I wouldn't bet too much on it...
I have a question. Secret ink does not work on my 6S, neither before 3D touch nor after turning it off. Does anyone have a similar problem, or how to fix it? I tried restarting, turning the phone off and on and nothing... It doesn't work
There must not be "restricted movement" aka disabled animations in the system. If you turn them on, then it works fine in the news, I thought about that too.
And no matter what I do, it just doesn't work for me? I don't even understand what I should hold when sending to be offered an offer with secret ink...?
Write the text, then in the text field hold down the arrow to send, a menu and effects should pop up
hello, I'm joining the discussion because the effects and bubbles don't work for me and I have "restriction of movement" turned on, can you advise what to do with it?
You must have it turned off - that is, turn on the animations when opening folders and apps.
Update is fine, iph6 ... unlocking is one big horror and my music interface is a complete shock ... does waking up the phone by picking it up only work on 6s and higher? Because I don't see where it can be turned on
Raise to wake only iP6s and above. Home button, in general, access, desktop button and tick there.
Agreed, horribly stuck playing music, the music app is horrible with that big, crude, childish font. I had to use a lot of notifications, as they take up more space and are unaesthetic.
I consider the words of Mr. Pisálek "a more stable and functional iOS has never been here" to be very sheepish. Because on the iP6, the system is pretty slow and crashes in places. You can't unsubscribe on administrations by swiping your finger down (eg: I'm reading a website, an SMS appears and a notification pops up from the top), on iOS it was enough to swipe your finger and unsubscribe immediately. Now the only thing is to go directly to the administration, which is slower than the whole of iOS10.
The only thing I like about it are the new sounds, otherwise dissatisfaction.
You'll have to fly to America and show those sheep how to do it.
PS It would be very polite if you apologized to the author of the article for calling him "Mr. Pisálek" in the Czech Republic, it sounds very derogatory, Mr. Brož does not deserve that. thank you
I won't apologize. Since the way he writes is very sheepish. And he himself is to blame for what he writes. I would never write such rose-tinted delusions, because even though I have been using Apple devices for over 8 years, I will not blindly claim that they are the best in the world, and this is what any realistic-minded person will tell you.
Absolutely agree
tow
What did you update to then?
Because I was expecting something more and I didn't expect it to be so laggy on the iP6.
I quite liked SMS when they were presenting at Keynote, but the lags completely disgusted me to make the basic application work so terribly.
They didn't show aMusic as it really looks. Just horror (see photo), if the font size could be changed I wouldn't say so, but this?
The notification center is still a matter of habit (the horror was better)
crap in the cage of one unsolicited person... I also have an iP6 and nothing works and I don't agree with the others. If you don't like the look that was known long ago, I don't understand the transition. You could wait for each choice and be informed.
The look was presented as it was, and it looked good at the keynote as a first impression. However, after starting aMusic, I froze, what is it?
Doesn't it cut? I'd like to see that. Turn on FB messenger and tell me how many seconds it takes for it to turn on, because on iOS9 it turns on within a second. Now it turns on even for 5 seconds, for example.
The weather is loaded for about 2 seconds, sometimes as soon as I turn on the notification center.
It's more about who notices the details and not about "bullshit in a cage"
I'm pretty picky and notice these things right away. And my opinion is that the system is increasingly out of tune.
...further, the camera can quite often (approx. 1:3) be cut off from the locked surface when it is not used for a long time, leaving a blurred surface (you need to turn on the camera from the quick access menu) = another delay if you need to take a quick photo of something
Not everyone notices these things, as they don't bother them, but hey to me.
The only way to speed it up would be to reinstall iOS. But I will try that when I have time.
the appearance and the Music were denied here in articles many times before the launch.
I don't know what's so nitpicky about noticing chopping.
Yes, you're right, after the update, my camera also crashed twice and the messenger took longer to start, but that's completely normal with every update before everything "sits" in the cache, etc. Everything works quickly and FB Messanger is instant.
Nothing is cut. I deliberately tried apps that I haven't launched for a long time or that have received an update. Just nothing. Everything is smooth, fast, instant.
And how did you upgrade? Through iTunes as a new iP or normally through the settings in the iP?
How much free space do you have? (I only 8z60GB)
Those are the things that slow everything down, but I don't want to deal with them now (purify)
via IP and wifi settings. I even barely had room to download. I have 500MB from 16GB :D
That's the only thing that annoys me, that I have suspiciously little space. I've always had at least 1-2GB and now I don't know what it is, but I'll figure it out. Otherwise, I have movement restrictions turned off, so everything works.
Hmm, I have to have the movement restriction turned on, because then the new features in the messages don't work for me. It also does its part regarding system hacking.
but after all, I write that the restriction of movement is turned off, that means that movement is allowed, i.e. that the features work :)
Ah, correction :-)
JK, you are a nice wit, I am also dissatisfied and fully agree with Gene, but after my experience with Apple in recent years, I resisted for the first time - I will not upgrade either my phone or Mac. Normally, I express myself politely, but I've had enough of such smart people as JK - and, basically, the kind of terror of customers from Apple where three times a day a window pops up with a proposal for an update and there is no option to cancel, i.e. cancellation, etc.
And how clever and impolite did I write to hurt you so much? The fact that it is better to inform myself in advance before doing what I would regret later? That's what every reasonable person will do, whether it's Apple or Zanusi. You yourself write that you are not updating anything for the first time. Your choice and you don't have to deal with the fact that you don't like something. Terror? Well, try Windows, it will be a convenience.
I have a 6s and when I wake up, it's mostly a complete mess.
There are many cases when I pick up the phone and I don't intend to touch it, yet the display lights up senselessly and reacts to random touches. And there are many cases when I just want to glance at the table, for which it would be enough to tap on the display, but that's not it, Apple is going its own way, I have to raise it as fast as I can (and besides, it doesn't always work). It is possible to turn it off, as touch ID unlocks more slowly than on iOS 9, there is a completely unnecessary delay.
Losing all the data on the phone is great... I have an iPhone 6s and it has about 105 GB of data, the problem is that my laptop has a 128 GB SSD, so it is not possible to save a complete backup via iTunes. Of course, I also have a 2TB external drive, but how do I set it up in iTunes so that the backup is saved directly to the external drive? Can someone please advise me? I googled it and nothing... Thanks a lot!
If we are talking about Windows, I would know.
By default, backups are stored in the directory C:UsersusernameAppDataRoamingApple ComputerMobileSyncBackup
It is enough to copy the contents of the Backup folder to an external drive, e.g. to the D:iPhoneBackup folder, delete the folder C:UsersusernameAppDataRoamingApple ComputerMobileSyncBackup and run the following command in C:UsersusernameAppDataRoamingApple ComputerMobileSync
mklink /J /H Backup D:iPhoneBackup
this creates a "junction" that looks like a folder for iTunes and leads to the desired location. Then it is only necessary to ensure that the external disk is also available at the time of the backup. The mklink command creates that link, it does not create the destination folder.
POL
On OSX it should be:
~/Library/Application Support/Backup
Where ~/ means the current user's home folder, for example /Users/Petr/
So connect the external drive, move the folder to the appropriate directory on the external drive and then only in Terminal.app:
ln -s /Volumes/ExterniDisk/iOS/Backup ~/Library/Application Support/Backup
Or move the entire iTunes library to an external drive. That's how I run it because of a large music library, but you always need to connect the disk before starting iTunes. It's not very comfortable. In your case, I would consider buying iCloud space. Then the backup is without problems. 50GB is enough for me
Please, how do I turn on the typical announcement sound in Messenger? :-/
I wonder too :/
Then I didn't find the possibility to change it, maybe the developers will fix it in the next version. I now have the same sound as SMS and it bothers me a lot. :/
I am not able to upgrade to iPad Air 2. The installation downloads, takes a long time to verify the update and says the error “Unable to install update, there was an error installing ios10. Restarting or deleting and re-downloading ios10 didn't help. Does anyone know what to do with it?
iTunes helps, I had the same problem on 5s, 6s.
iP5S,iPA2,AW install IOS10 ??. The only problem is that I am tempted to upgrade my iPhone?
Good day, when I receive a message written in invisible ink or an animation of a heartbeat, etc., none of it comes to me as an animation. The text arrives normally and with that comes a second message from "sent with invisible ink", the animation does not move, etc. When I send, everything is in order and it arrives on the other side as it should. I have an iphone 6. Do you know what the problem is? Thanks
It's either "motion restriction" enabled in settings/accessibility or try turning off and then turning on iMessage. That helped me
Hello, I have an SE and would like to know if there is an option to cancel the wake-up function of the phone (unlock the phone only with the touch ID button) Thanks for the info.
I would look in the Accessibility section, there is also a restriction on the need to press.
Hello, I have a question if it is possible somewhere to turn off the pop-up of "recommended" applications for download.
Try Settings-Privacy-Ads if it helps..
Ads are limited, hopefully this will help, thanks for the tip.
I agree with the author of the article thanks to the new iOS 10 I have a new iPhone.
Thanks for the article.
PS You are not the kind of person to behave towards all people. And this applies everywhere, even in iOS.
You killed it :-D
Good afternoon, I flashed iOS 10 to my phone and now I can't connect it to the iMac via iTunes (...because an invalid response was received from the device), my first problem with apple, I'm using OS X 10.7.5 on my computer :-D
I'd try it after upgrading my iMac to Sierra... I had a problem last year or the year before that I upgraded to iCloud on iOS and OSX wouldn't deal with it for 2 months before the new version was out :-(
I have the same problem, and so far the only solution is to downgrade to IOS 9.3.5. I need Lion for car diagnostics and I can't give it up.
Hello,
i want to ask if there is any way to change the screen lock sound? Unfortunately, I didn't figure it out myself :( ¨
Thank you for answer :)
As far as I know, they can only be turned off :-(
Settings -> Sounds -> Lock sound ON/OFF
I don't use our localization so I'm just guessing what it's called…
Mail has been able to group messages into threads for a long time, not until iOS 10. Now only the thread icon has changed.
The "delete all" option has disappeared in Mail. I had to switch to another app. DAMAGE.
With the new iOS, the bluetooth in the car doesn't work and the iRadar app crashes right away
You have to download the new iradar app, I didn't even know it was out, I don't have it as an update app but as a new one and for a long time
Well, I don't know, it bites my 5S quite a bit, especially when I want to make a phone call. Today I had a colleague with another 5S, also 10.0.1, and in his contacts it does the same thing as me - in the sidebar AZ, when I slide my finger down to Z, it only appears until the end of U... So 10 disappointments for me...
So far I like unlocking with a button, I miss the deletion. Otherwise, widgets on the lock screen are great.
hello, I don't know if it's already here, but I haven't seen it anywhere...
the new update has changed the notification tone of messages on messenger and whatsapp and I can't change it for God's sake, I have the correct tone set for whats and fb, yet they sound different to me…. does anyone know what to do with it?
Thank you
Any info? Also, the message sound on messenger has changed to an alert, which makes me angry and I don't know how to change it :/ Help
The same problem :( After a restart it sometimes works for me for a while and then nothing again - my nerves :(
Hello, after the ios10 update, iBooks crashes, I restarted the ipad, installed and reinstalled iBooks, even restored all data and the application crashes after loading. Please advise what to do with it.
Hello, I am not satisfied with the new update, through the screen lock. Is there any way to go back to the previous version? Thank you
Maybe downgrade.
Why downgrade? This is enough.
Solution:

Everything works as expected, but when I wanted to synchronize the iPhone 5s with iTunes (on the iMac), a window appeared that "an invalid response was received". Don't you know what to do with that?
Does it work or is the error still there?
The error still persists.

Update to 6s and iPad 4 mini in order. The first thing I noticed right away is that if you set your picture as wallpaper, it is automatically darkened and not as bright as the original. I couldn't find any way to edit or change it in the settings. It's a shame. It works on both devices. Did you notice too?
iphone 6, iphone 6s plus, ipad air, ipad mini 2 - all updated without a single hesitation..
Hello, I have had an iPhone 6s for about 14 days and I was raised on Android. I want to ask if I update my phone to ios10 how much space will it take and will my phone slow down?? I'm asking because my samsungs got slower and more stuck after every update. Thanks for the reply and advice…
You can find the basic answers on YouTube, there is also a video that shows the slowdown of the S6 and it is also understandable that the software is more demanding on the hardware, the new S7 has a better processor
About the same, it's not such a problem as with A. It only needs about 2GB free during installation.
Hi, has anyone tried bilingual writing? I don't have iOS 10 yet and it will come to me
this as the most important news, but I'm afraid it doesn't work with Czech.
What exactly is meant by this?
So for me, the overall impression of apple in general was spoiled by the update.. I don't like it at all.. siri starts beeping every time I click the home button by mistake, I'm not even talking about the lock screen, and what about the sounds.. thumbs down for me! ?
Please do not know how to return the original sorting in the Mail application - normally mail from exchange, i.e. two-level, now my email communications have collapsed into one pile and it is impossible to tell
I've never had a problem with an iPhone and updates, and I've had several iPhones over the years, but iOS 10 totally sent my phone…! My wifi search has stopped working so I can't connect at home or at work and overall it won't find any wifi I've ever entered on my phone. It also has a problem finding the location, so for example when using the Waze application, the phone tells me that it cannot find my location. I still don't see notifications on the main screen for some apps (whats app, instagram), even though I have everything set up correctly in the settings. I don't know what to do with this phone! If I could, I definitely wouldn't do the update yet! There are a lot of fairly major errors!!!
Hello,
I need your professional advice. I don't know how it's possible, but after the new iOS 10 I use more data /internet/ than I used to. Possible? I think that I have turned off everything unimportant for me, even Wi-fi Assistant... I don't know what to do next. My net surfing is kept to a minimum..Thank you for your reply.
After updating iOS iPhone6, I can't connect to iTunes on MAC OS X 10.7.5, it says "iTunes can't connect to iPhone 'iPhone' because an invalid response was received from the device." Any help? Thanks
