It was a phone that many users fell in love with almost immediately, and their enthusiasm was not dampened by the Antennagate affair, when some iPhones of this type experienced problems with receiving a signal due to the placement of the antenna. The iPhone 4 was praised, for example, for its design, which markedly differed from its predecessors. The iPhone 4 sold very well indeed - during the first weekend from the day of the start of sales, Apple managed to sell 1,7 million units of this model. The iPhone 4 was the successor to the iPhone 3GS, which saw the light of day the previous year. Steve Jobs introduced this news during the opening Keynote at WWDC 2010 on June 7. It was the last iPhone to be introduced by Steve Jobs, and also the last iPhone model to be introduced during the June Keynote. In the following years, Apple already switched to introducing new iPhones as part of its autumn Keynote.

As far as functions are concerned, the iPhone 4 offered the FaceTime service with the possibility of video chat, it was equipped with an improved 5MP camera with LED flash, a front camera in VGA quality and above all a Retina display with a significantly higher resolution compared to the previous model. Compared to its predecessors, it also had significantly sharper edges and a slimmer body. The iPhone 4 with Retina display was equipped with an Apple A4 processor, offered longer battery life and 512 MB of RAM. The successor to the iPhone 4 was the iPhone 2011s in October 4, which not only corrected some of the shortcomings suffered by its predecessor, but also introduced the virtual personal assistant Siri. The iPhone 4 was discontinued in September 2013.
