In the next beta versions, in the order of five, of its iOS 9 and watchOS 2 operating systems, Apple not only brought improvements to stability and overall performance, but also showed several interesting novelties that we can look forward to in the fall. In addition, many are already testing these new features in public beta versions.
iOS 9
The fifth beta of the operating system for iPhones and iPads brought many new wallpapers to the main and locked screens, on the contrary, some older wallpapers were completely removed. If you have a favorite system theme in iOS 8.4, you better save it somewhere before updating to iOS 9 so that you don't lose it.
So far, Apple has brought the most interesting thing with the functioning of Wi-Fi on mobile devices. The so-called the Wi-Fi Assist function will be of real use in real-world use, as if you activate it, it will ensure that the device will automatically switch to a mobile 3G/4G network if the Wi-Fi signal you are connected to is weak.
It is not yet clear how weak the signal will be when Wi-Fi Assist will switch from Wi-Fi, but until now this inconvenience had to be solved by turning Wi-Fi off and on. This will probably no longer be necessary.
With Wi-Fi, Apple has prepared one more novelty. In iOS 9, there will be a new animation when Wi-Fi is turned off, when the signal icon does not disappear from the top line one line at a time, but turns gray and then disappears.
With Apple Music, in the latest iOS 9 beta, a new option for mixing and playing all songs ("Shuffle All") has appeared, which can be activated when previewing a song, album or specific genre. The Handoff functionality has also been modified - by default, applications that you do not have installed (but you can download them from the App Store) will no longer appear on the locked screen, but only those that you have already downloaded.
Watch 2
The fifth watchOS 2 beta for Apple watches also brought some news. Several new watch faces have been added, including a time-lapse video with the Eiffel Tower. Apple has also added a new function where after tapping the display, it stays lit for up to 70 seconds, while it was normally 15 seconds.
In turn, the new quick play option starts the music on your iPhone without having to navigate through lengthy menus to get to your favorite artist. The current playback screen has also been changed - volume is now in the bottom center circular menu.
If only they would enable prioritization of the wifi network!
I have 2 networks, one on 2,4GHz and one on 5GHz. The one on 2,4GHz is almost unusable, the entire band is insanely disturbed by other networks. 5GHz is great, only its range is of course smaller. Otherwise, I want to be on 5GHz if it is within range, and if not, then switch to 2,4GHz. But no! iPhone always catches on 2,4GHz and ignores 5GHz networks! I've tried renaming the networks, messing with the "Wifi Priority" app, but nothing helps :-(
Can someone help?
It's probably not exactly kosher advice, but I had a similar problem, so I just turned off the 2,4 Ghz on the router. The question is how much this will solve your problem.
Yes, I've only tried working on a 5ghz network. but in one part of the apartment I can't get 5GHz wifi anymore and I pay money for data over the 3G network there :-(
airport express as a wifi extender
The only problem I see there is that if the basic router is not from Apple, then it caused me problems, airport express did not want me to expand the existing network
Scrotum? Is that really your name?
Yes, I have no reason to hide behind an imaginary identity…
But you have :D
I see that the idiot can be found everywhere. I don't understand if someone doesn't care why they write nonsense here. Hello, when someone is anonymous, they probably like to show off. Admin could probably delete it!
Better than you :-)
I don't want to argue, but you have to have a really huge apartment (or SDK with those AL consoles that can interfere with it) I have 110m2, a NETGEAR WNDR router something, in the very last corner of the whole apartment and on the opposite side around 40%. I'm just a theorist, but what about a repeater on the 5GHz band? In short, to avoid the 2,4 altogether?
I also had problems connecting the iMac 27 - the wifi kept dropping, I thought it was the iMac or the operating system update.
I bought Time Capsules and everything is OK.
Name both sites the same in the router. Give them the same password. The phone itself will choose the better one.
I didn't believe it either, but it works beautifully :-)
unfortunately it doesn't work at the airport / time capsule :(
Hi, I know I don't belong here, but what is spindump for and why can't it be turned off?
To collect system errors and send them to Apple. Personally, I have it turned on, but I'm not sure if Apple's reporting can be turned off in the system settings or "tweaks" and theoretically then spindump should die (I assume logically, if that's the case you'll have to try it yourself)
More in English:

If the page is only for developers, the given description can also be viewed by starting the terminal.app application (Applications/Utilities/Terminal.app) and typing:
man 8 spin dump
I must be stupid, I have iOS 9 beta 5 but somehow I can't find wifi assist :(. Can you help me? Thanks.
where can I get BEta? :(
Settings - mobile data at the very bottom
Thanks, I didn't scroll down there, I thought it would be somewhere at the top :)
Hmmm, if they would rather work on improving the wifi. Everywhere others, and I won't even say manufacturers, but platforms, have a wifi signal and that's quite decent, so I'm out of range on my phone and tablet :-(
