However, it always pays to install each update in time when it becomes available. In addition to automatic updates, there is also the option of manual updates, which we will look at in our guide today. Sometimes it can happen that the automatic update will not work.
Depending on the type of product, Apple releases operating systems called Apple offers macOS, iOS, tvOS and others. You might think that the operating system for HomePod has a similar name. Internally, Apple employees call it audioOS, but this name is never used publicly. New firmware versions for HomePod are usually released at the same time as updates to the tvOS operating system.
- Launch the app on your iPhone Household.

- Click on icon of three dots in a circle at the top right.
- Select in the menu that appears Household settings.
- Click on Software update.
- Deactivate HomePod.
You should see a message about available updates - tap to confirm that you want to install the update.
