Long gone are the days of competing with friends to see who has the most music on their phone. Currently, for the price of a monthly subscription, you can already have millions of songs in your pocket that you can play anytime, anywhere. Among the biggest "players" in this industry are Spotify and Apple Music, which are also their competitors. Spotify is doing a little better than Apple Music, however, it should be noted that these two services are not the only ones. You can also choose Tidal, which differs in many ways compared to the mentioned services.
If you haven't heard of the Tidal service yet, you're definitely not alone - this service is primarily intended for music fanatics. While Spotify and Apple Music offer all songs in "ordinary" quality, Tidal, on the other hand, offers them in several times higher quality. In a way, it can be said that both Spotify and Apple Music are streaming services intended for the masses, while Tidal is mainly used by music enthusiasts. You may be thinking right now that because of the high quality, you won't find all the songs you like to listen to on Tidal. That's true in the end, there are really fewer songs here, especially when it comes to lesser-known performers. In total, however, you can still find more than 70 million songs on Tidal, which is still more than enough. Tidal generally offers two forms of subscription – Premium and more expensive HiFi. When you subscribe to Tidal Premium, you get premium sound quality, with Tidal HiFi you can look forward to even better HiFi sound, together with Tidal Masters, which are the highest quality warehouses available. In addition, you also get other exclusive content as part of Tidal HiFi.
The classic price of a monthly Tidal Premium subscription is 149 crowns, while Tidal HiFi can be purchased for 298 crowns per month. If you've ever wanted to try Tidal in the past and were put off by the higher price, I have absolutely great news for you. At the moment, Tidal has launched a Black Friday event, thanks to which you can get a subscription Tidal Premium for 15 CZK, Tidal hifi it will only work for you 30 CZK. At the same time, take into account that you will not pay this amount for one month of subscription, but for four. For 15 crowns or 30 crowns, you get a subscription to Tidal Premium or HiFi for 120 days. The only catch is that they can only take advantage of this promotion new users, the existing ones are not. To take advantage of this promotion, go to Tidal's Black Friday site, where you tap on Get Offer. Choose your subscription on the next page Premium or HiFi, Log in to account a make a payment. You can start using the 120-day subscription immediately afterwards.
Cool! Thanks for the great tip!
The offer has probably ended.
She didn't finish.
now yes?
The claim of "several times higher" quality is rather exaggerated here. Higher quality is certainly there, but even an experienced audiophile will not engage in pointless comparisons of how many times the quality is better. It's like saying that one pear is several times tastier than the other. And it really can't be compared with the size of the data file. Well, the second thing is what the listener plays the "several times" better quality music on and what he reproduces it from. And last but not least, to what extent he is able to distinguish that quality himself and if he has the right conditions for it. That is, to take it on a trip by subway, train, bus or go for a run and play it from your mobile phone to wireless plugs, for that Apple Music quality is an unnecessary luxury. Here, Jablíčkář ventures into waters that are far from his own. But on the other hand, thanks for the info about this event and the small, albeit not very successful, awareness of Tidal.
The bitrate for Premium and HiFi is several times higher than the 320 Kbps standard. And the fact that you will need high-quality wired headphones for listening probably doesn't need to be mentioned - from that point on, below the first paragraph, there is an article where the reader will find everything they need.
You have no idea what your talking about. Bitrate is 320 Kbps for Premium and CD quality for Hifi. Anyone who has ever bought a CD, i.e. the older ones, the younger ones are no longer up to it, knows what it is about. And Master quality isn't even in Tidal's Black Friday offer. So don't expect any miracles - listeners on mobile phones or some mainstream players probably won't even notice any increase in quality - there's no reason to.
You're right, I was wrong. Classic Premium has 320 Kbps, HiFi has lossless CD quality. Anyway, according to the Tidal website, Tidal Masters is part of the Tidal HiFi subscription.
Tom, everything is working, or should be. If you use the more expensive option, you will have access to content in Master quality. The problem is that, for example, on a Mac, it won't work that way in the browser, but you have to install their app. Well, the app is worth a fortune. Error messages keep popping up, you can't create a single playlist, in short, it's bugged like a pig. In this regard, Apple Music works like a charm. Damage. If Tidal doesn't do something about it, it's useless.
I tried the Hifi quality on the LG SK10Y, which connects directly to the Internet, and then on the Sony WH-1000XM1 headphones (connected by cable and bluetooth with aptX (=theoretically worse quality)) and I have to admit that it was better than Spotify, cable, non-cable etc. I just didn't hear much. Maybe a little yes, but the question is whether I would recognize it in a blind test ;-). In addition, today you can set different equalizers in headphones or speakers, and adjustments that change everything and everyone listens a little according to what they know and prefer ;-).
Mr. Monster, I confess that I did not really understand the meaning of your post. I mean, I can read, but your whole message gives me the impression that you are only trying to bring down the author of the article. It doesn't seem to me that the author is trying to provide any kind of erudite and significant enlightenment about Tidal. In short, and well at the given moment, he brought interesting information that one quality music service, which, however, is not as widespread and well-known as the competition, could be subscribed at a certain time for a very favorable price. Well, of course, it is normal to offer the readers some more detailed information about the mentioned service, with its depth and details commensurate with the expertise of the article, i.e. quite basic information. It didn't exactly give the impression of trying to be a professional text, or anything more than interesting for the reader. Your finding flies in the text at all costs, correcting and instructing the author, and showing that you know your way around is laughable, and for me you just made a mockery of yourself. I consider myself an audiophile. I own some very expensive headphones, a really very expensive HiFi system, and an Astell&Kern portable player. I have a Tidal subscription. But even so, I don't think the article aspires to something you're trying to push. But thanks for the fun. ;))) Know-it-alls and smart-ass diggers are simply an inherent part of discussions.
Martin, I was interested in your comment on the topic of Tidal. I fully agree with your opinion. But I was interested in your other comment about the equipment you have at home. I also have a fairly expensive and high-quality HiFi system and I also own an Astell&Kern AK 380 player
And why am I actually writing this, it has Tidal for streaming and I have not yet found anyone who owns such a player to advise me on how to connect to Tidal. If you would be able to advise, I would be very grateful. Thanks Mirek
Maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to get in touch via email.

Thank you very much.
The Monster: Me Tidal app works normally and there are no errors.
You must be a happy person. It doesn't work on my iPad or Mac. So the apps work, but you won't create a single playlist, you won't add anything to your collection, I keep getting messages on the Mac saying that the content is no longer available, it's just a bug. I wrote to support, they apologized, it's already resolved and I can enjoy their services, but the truth is, nothing was resolved, it's all for nothing. And I'm sitting here with equipment costing over 100 and it's useless. I play as a writer, the sound is beautiful, but this is really just having time to sit and browse. I won't save anything, I won't mark it, this is really of no use. That's why Apple Music is the perfect service for any occasion, anywhere, anytime.
It's the same unfortunately, I also use an Imac pro and the same problem. That is, I make playlists on my mobile but then play them via I Mac?
I also can't create playlists in the app on the iPhone 8plus. I'm quite disappointed with that.
It looks to me like they are having issues with the accounts being created in this event. I'm logged into their application, I've tried logging out, restarting, logging in, but it doesn't help. It keeps throwing errors and asking me to double check that I'm logged in. I hope they take this issue seriously and fix it quickly, because for the price it looks like a pretty good service, but that's not going to get you a good name or an influx of customers. This is actually a hundred times better than Apple Music - for most users and for wider use. Tidal has a very narrow profile and lacks its advantages for most users. Those who actually use it and appreciate it know why. Everyone else (most) doesn't have to waste much time with it, especially not when it's getting this angry now.
Now everything is working, glory!
Personally, as a rocker archaeologist, I can highly recommend Tidal. Wide range, quality sound. News immediately. I use a Bluesound Node 2 streamer, it can do MQA and has a great control application.
Hello,
Does anyone have experience with Tidal? Specifically, the question is about what internet connection speed is needed? I have approx. 65 Mbit/s download and the song pauses when streaming in HiFi mode. Is it a slow connection or something else?
Thanks for any reply.
So it's already debugged itself. I have no idea where the mistake was.
I would be most interested in how to cancel a tidal subscription.
Are you really that dumb?
how important...d...., I don't care, I took advantage of the sale in datart and bought a sony sony wh-1000xm4, the original price was 10500, you can get it for 7500...immediately after connecting the headphones, I fell in love with them. ,, it broke like a pig .. I'm blown away ... the sound is a blast ... it sucks, but the selection in master quality on Tindal is limited, hopefully it will change
