The gaming industry is constantly growing. So we can constantly enjoy newer and more advanced games that can provide us with literally long hours of fun. As technology moves forward, a number of other things are also thought of. After all, we can see it ourselves in the huge boom in so-called VR gaming, when the player puts on a special headset and immerses himself in his own virtual reality world while playing. Of course, people who cannot enjoy traditional forms of gaming are also not forgotten.

That's why Microsoft developed a special game controller for people with limited mobility. It is called the Xbox Adaptive Controller, and its main advantage is that it can be practically adapted to the needs of the player. But at first glance, it doesn't look like that. Basically, it is just two buttons and the so-called D-pad (arrows). However, the key is diverse expandability – you just need to connect more and more different buttons to the controller, which can then directly serve each player individually. In fact, it is a rather brilliant piece of technology that makes the world of gaming accessible to many other players and makes their lives much more pleasant. But how does Apple approach this controller?

Apple, accessibility and gaming

Apple presents itself clearly in the field of accessibility – it tries to give a helping hand to disadvantaged people. This is great to see on apple software. In operating systems, we find a number of different functions that are intended to facilitate the use of the products themselves. Here we can include, for example, VoiceOver for the visually impaired or voice control for people with limited mobility. In addition, only recently Apple revealed other features such as automatic door detection, control of the Apple Watch with the help of an iPhone, live subtitles and many others, which clearly shows which side the giant stands on.

There has even been speculation among Apple fans about whether Apple still has anywhere to move in the software field, and whether it is not appropriate to come up with its own hardware for disadvantaged users. And apparently Apple already has less experience with it. Its operating systems have supported the mentioned Xbox Adaptive Controller game controller for a long time. The aforementioned players with limited mobility can fully enjoy gaming on Apple platforms and, for example, start playing through the Apple Arcade game service.

On the other hand, it would be quite hypocritical of Apple not to support this game controller. As we mentioned above, the Cupertino giant presents itself as a helper for people with disabilities, which tries to make their daily lives easier. However, whether Apple will go its own way and actually bring special hardware from this area is unclear for now. Leakers and analysts are not talking about anything like that for now.
