It's been a few days since we saw the introduction of four new iPhone 12s at the second Apple Fall Conference. To remind you, we specifically saw smartphones with the names iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. All these new "twelve" iPhones offer the top Apple processor A14 Bionic, which, among other things, also beats in the iPad Air of the 4th generation. The fact that all the mentioned phones finally have a high-quality OLED display labeled Super Retina XDR is also great, and Face ID biometric protection, which is based on advanced face scanning, is also present. Among other things, the photo systems of the new iPhones also received improvements.
As for the iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 12, both of these models offer a total of two lenses on their backs, where one is ultra-wide-angle and the other is classic wide-angle. With these two cheaper models, the photo array is then completely identical - so whether you buy a 12 mini or a 12, the photos will be exactly the same. However, if you followed Apple's conference closely on Tuesday, you may have noticed that the same cannot be said for the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. Although the triple photo system of both these smartphones appears to be completely identical, it is not. Apple has decided to take the photo system of the flagship model 12 Pro Max a little further compared to its smaller brother. Let's not lie, Apple phones have always been among the best when it comes to photography and video recording. Despite the fact that we cannot yet evaluate the quality of photos and recordings by users, I dare to say that it will be absolutely stunning again, but most of all with the 12 Pro Max. So what do both models have in common and what is the difference between them?
What do both models have in common?
First, let's say what the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max photo systems have in common, so we have something to bounce off of. In both cases, you will find a professional 12 Mpix triple photo system on the back of these devices, which offers an ultra-wide-angle lens, a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens. In this case, the ultra-wide-angle and the wide-angle lens are identical, in the case of the telephoto lens we already encounter a difference - but more on that below. Both devices also have a LiDAR scanner, with the help of which it is possible to create portraits in night mode. The portrait mode itself is then perfected compared to its predecessors. The wide-angle lens, together with the telephoto lens, is then double optically stabilized in both "Pros". The ultra-wide-angle lens is five-element, the telephoto six-element, and the wide-angle lens seven-element. There is also Night mode (except for the telephoto lens), 100% Focus Pixels for the wide-angle lens, Deep Fusion, Smart HDR 3 and support for the Apple ProRAW format. Both flagships can record videos in HDR Dolby Vision mode at 60 FPS, or in 4K at 60 FPS, slow-motion recording is again possible in both 1080p up to 240 FPS. That's the most important information about what the two devices have in common on the photo system.
What is the difference between the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro Max photo system?
In this paragraph, however, let's finally talk about how "Pročka" differs from itself. I mentioned above that the 12 Pro Max has a different, and therefore better, telephoto lens compared to its smaller sibling. It still has a resolution of 12 Mpix, but differs in the aperture number. While the 12 Pro has an f/2.0 aperture in this case, the 12 Pro Max has f/2.2. The differences are then also in the zoom as such – the 12 Pro offers 2x optical zoom, 2x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom and 4x optical zoom range; 12 Pro Max then 2,5x optical zoom, 2x optical zoom, 12x digital zoom and 5x optical zoom range. The larger Pro model also has the upper hand in stabilization, as in addition to double optical stabilization, the wide-angle lens also has optical image stabilization with sensor shift. The last difference between the 12 Pro and the 12 Pro Max is in video recording, more precisely in the ability to zoom. While the 12 Pro offers 2x optical zoom for video, 2x optical zoom, 6x digital zoom and 4x optical zoom range, the flagship 12 Pro Max offers 2,5x optical zoom, 2x optical zoom, 7 × digital zoom and 5x optical zoom range. Below you will find a clear table in which you will find all the detailed specifications of both photosystems.

I reordered the 12 Pro, I don't want a big paddle and I don't take pictures that often. So there you go.
Did you check the table yourself?
Ultra-wide lens f/2.4 aperture, 120° field of view 3,1 GHz - not confirmed
Wide angle f/1.6 aperture lens yes
? Oops. ?
But they don't check each other's articles. I have recommended it to them many times, but it is in vain. Amaya has a similar scorecard here and she is also doing poorly in the table.
I reordered 12 Pro Max)))
really, that's right when pre-orders for pro max don't start until November 6th
Picovina when 3.11 has Datart delivery?
And that's why Apple introduced the name MAX instead of the older name PLUS, to make it clear that the bigger phone is just bigger and has nothing extra? Yeah, does that make sense?
Isn't f/2.0 better than f/2.2? If I were to buy a lens, I would definitely choose the first option. In a different way: I wanted to switch to a mobile phone with such home photography, but the photos are simply terrible compared to a SLR camera. Oversaturated, calculated, magnifications are practically impossible... Those big lenses and big sensors simply cannot be replaced. Or one has to put up with virtual reality (beautifully colored...).
Exactly, when I compare telephoto lenses (f2.0 – 2x optical zoom) and (f2.2 – 2,5x), it turns out to be roughly and exactly the same. But you can't fool physics
The main lens will also be bigger and better micron size in 12 pro 1,4um but in 12pro Max it is 1,7um
