Apple picker Commercial message: The FIXED brand is launching a new product in the field of locators. FIXED Tag uses Apple's Find My network of hundreds of millions of Apple devices worldwide to display its location, keeping location data private and anonymous thanks to end-to-end encryption.
FIXED is not new to the locator business. The new FIXED Tag follows on from its predecessors, the first of which, named SMILE, saw the light of day already in 2016. In 2020, the SMILE locator received its successor, the SMILE Pro product, which at the time had an interesting gadget in the form of a built-in motion sensor , the family sharing function or displaying the last known location on the map. A year later, FIXED successfully approached investors on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo and developed the smart locator FIXED Sense, which works with a temperature and humidity sensor. FIXED later invested in locators with IoT technology, which is on the rise. But this path turned out to be a dead end.
"When Apple introduced the Find My network, we realized it was a technology that could change the way companies locate personal items like keys, wallets, luggage and bikes," says Daniel Havner, one of the founders of FIXED , which is responsible for the direction the FIXED brand is taking. “Using the Apple Find My network, hundreds of millions of Apple devices can detect Bluetooth signals from a lost FIXED Tag and transmit the location back to its owner, all in the background, anonymously and privately. Soon we will introduce a wireless charging card the size of a credit card, which will be ideal for protecting wallets. We believe that the Smart category will soon join the already profitable product categories of the FIXED brand," added Daniel Havner.
Comprised of hundreds of millions of Apple devices, the Apple Find My network provides an easy and secure way to locate compatible personal items using the Find My app on iPhones, iPads, Macs, or the Find Items app on Apple Watch. Find My requires iOS 14.5, iPad OS 14.5, Mac OS Big Sur 11.1, and Watch OS 8.0 or later. The Find My accessory program allows third parties to integrate location features into their products, so users can use Find My to locate and track those products, such as the FIXED Tag, even when they're not in their immediate vicinity. The Find My network is anonymous and uses advanced encryption, meaning that no one (not even Apple or FIXED) can see the location of your items.
The FIXED Tag is available in white or black with a color-coordinated metal frame. FIXED is based on simplicity of use. After removing it from the package, the user simply snaps the attached carabiner into the eyelet in the upper part of the FIXED Tag and can immediately attach it to anything that needs to be protected, whether it is a backpack, keys or wallet. There is no need to install any new application to use FIXED Tag. The user can easily view the location of the Tag at any time in the Find My application on not only iPhone, iPad, but also Mac or iWatch.
The FIXED Tag itself is waterproof, IP66 certified and powered by a replaceable battery that lasts up to 1 year. The new FIXED Tag is already in the distribution network with a recommended retail price of CZK 699.
