Press Release: XTB, a global fintech offering an online investment platform and mobile app, uses its proprietary technology to make long-term passive investing more accessible and convenient. The company has just enhanced its ETF-based product with a new feature that allows investors to regularly top up their Investment Plans. Additional funds are invested automatically in accordance with the preferred allocation set by the client.

After the recent launch of interest on uninvested deposits, XTB continues to expand its passive investment products. ETF-based investment plans just got a new feature that allows investors to decide how often and how much money they want to invest.

Recurring payments have been made available in the XTB application, and clients in the Czech Republic can now regularly replenish their individual portfolios by setting the preferred cadence (daily, weekly, monthly) and payment method (credit card, bank transfer or free funds from the XTB account). Additional funds are invested automatically to reflect the preferred allocation within a single ETF portfolio. This enhancement now makes long-term passive investing hassle-free by allowing investors to deposit and invest their money automatically.

“We are focused on improving the investment experience offered to our clients around the world. In line with the "one app - many options" approach, we are expanding our passive investment offering to meet the needs of long-term investors who do not want to spend a lot of time actively managing their portfolio. With the addition of recurring payments and the autoinvest feature, we have taken passive investing to the next level as it is now automated and more convenient for our clients” says David Šnajdr, regional director of XTB.

Within the investment plans, clients can create up to 10 portfolios, each of which can contain up to nine ETFs. The automatic investment function needs to be set up for each portfolio separately. It can be canceled or modified at any time in the XTB app. In line with the overall XTB offer, there is a 0% fee when investing in ETFs, and the establishment and management of Investment Plans is free. This means that the investment grows without unnecessary costs.

Performance of Investment Plans on the Czech market

Investment plans were launched for XTB clients in the Czech Republic in the fall. To support its further growth in key European markets, XTB has launched a new multichannel marketing campaign. The spots take viewers into the XTB universe, where global brand ambassador Iker Casillas represents the essence of passive investing.

"We are satisfied with the results of the Investment Plans on the Czech market. The product is very well received by our clients and we see constant growth both in terms of the number of clients and the funds deposited in their long-term portfolios. Thanks to their involvement to date, we have become the second largest market for XTB in terms of number of clients” says Vladimír Holovka, sales director of XTB.

In 2023, passive investors in the Czech Republic mainly chose index ETFs (based on the S&P 500, MSCI World and NASDAQ 100 indices), followed by ETFs representing the performance of companies with high environmental, social and governance (ESG) ratings. The TOP 5 also included ETFs with exposure to the largest technology companies.

Considering that Investment Plans are now only available on mobile devices, there was also an increase in the distribution of mobile devices among Czech investors to a record 60%.
