iPhone is designed to protect your data and privacy. Built-in security features help prevent anyone but you from accessing your iPhone and iCloud data. With Sign in with Apple, apps and websites can only ask for a name and email when signing up for an account, so you share minimal information with them.

To sign in to a new service/app/website, you have to fill out a lot of information, complicated forms, not to mention coming up with a new password, or you can sign in via social media, which is probably the least secure thing you can do. Signing in with Apple will use your Apple ID, bypassing all of these steps. It's built from the ground up to give you complete control over the information you share about yourself. For example, you can hide your e-mail right at the beginning.

Hide my email

When you use Hide My Email, Apple creates a unique and random email address instead of your email to sign you into the service/app/website. However, it will forward all the information that goes on it to the address associated with your Apple ID. So you get to know all the important information without anyone knowing your email address.

Sign in via Apple is not only available on iPhones, but the function is also present on iPad, Apple Watch, Mac computers, iPod touch or Apple TV. It can be said that it is practically everywhere where you can use your Apple ID, i.e. especially on machines where you are logged in under it. However, you can sign in with your Apple ID on other brand devices if the Android or Windows app allows it. All you have to do is enter your Apple ID and password.

Important Notice

  • You must use two-factor authentication to use Sign in with Apple.
  • If you don't see Sign in with Apple, the service/app/website doesn't yet support it.
  • The feature is not available for accounts of children under 15 years of age.

Manage Sign in with Apple

If the service/app/website prompts you to sign in and you see the Sign in with Apple option, after selecting it, just authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID and choose whether or not you want to share your email. However, some do not need this information, so you may only see one option here in certain situations. The device you first signed in with will remember your information. If not (or if you log out manually), just choose your Apple ID when prompted to log in and authenticate with Face ID or Touch ID, you don't have to enter your password anywhere.

You can manage all your services, apps, and websites you've signed in to with your Apple ID in Settings -> Your Name -> Password & Security -> Apps using your Apple ID. Here, it is enough for you to select an application and perform one of the possible actions, such as turning off email forwarding or ending the use of the function.
