Apple's native Safari web browser is a great part of the macOS operating system. Similar to the popular "competitor" Chrome, you can also use various extensions in Safari for even better work in the browser. Our new series will be dedicated to extensions, in the first part of which we will introduce tools for blocking content.
AdBlock Plus
AdBlock Plus is among the most popular content blocking extensions. It can block pop-ups, video ads, banners, and ads that look like normal content at first glance. Blocked content is fully customizable in AdBlock Plus, so you can support your favorite sites by granting exceptions. AdBlock Plus can effectively block content that could potentially put you at risk of malware or surveillance, increasing your security, speeding up your browser, and reducing your MacBook's battery consumption.
AdBlock Max
Among extensions designed for content blocking, AdBlock Max is also quite popular. AdBlock Max is easy to set up and customize, as well as reliable in blocking all unwanted content - whether it's ads, malware links, or tracking tools. AdBlock Max uses a technology called Content Blocking Extensions to make Safari run even faster for you. The extension also includes a Whitelist feature, thanks to which you can display ads on the sites you want to support.
uBlock
The creators of the extension for Safari called uBlock promise a much smoother, faster and, above all, safer browsing of the Internet in your apple web browser after installing the mentioned tool. uBlock reliably blocks all unwanted ads, whether in the form of banners, pop-ups or auto-play videos. uBlock can also block links that lead to downloads of malicious software, tracking tools and other content.
Ghostery Lite
The Ghostery Lite extension for Safari guarantees that your work in this browser will be safe, fast and simple for you. This extension will protect you not only from various tracking tools, but also from unsolicited advertising content in any form. Ghostery Lite offers rich customization options that allow you to support the operators of your favorite websites by allowing ads.
Well, I don't know, I downloaded some extension from the App Store, but it warns me that the developer may have access to sensitive data such as passwords, payment cards, etc.
And the advice regarding the supplement is from my own experience or at least verified in practice .. or was the article just taken from a foreign website and copied into the road?
For example, uBlock is not available in the CZ app store..
Hello,
uBlock can be downloaded from the website of the creators of the application. Below the paragraph about each add-on you will find a download link. I've personally tried all the extensions over the years, I stick with Ghostery in Safari, I use AdBlock Plus in Chrome.
This is mostly copy-pasting from foreign websites, so don't look for your own initiative here...
what about your initiative, fighter? Whining in the discussion?
I just noticed it here. Quantity easily beats quality. Especially for an article with a number in the title. "Twenty-seven best ways to wipe a dark screen" etc.
Neither worked well for me. He was only catching something, it wasn't that. I purchased a license for Adguard and since then I've been free of ads on both my iPhone and Mac. I can only recommend.
Hello, thanks for the tip, we will try it.
I just came here for adguard and only came across it on your post. I'd like to try that too.
