At Computex, Asia's biggest tech show, Asus unveiled the new ZenBook 3 laptop, which boasts that it's thinner and lighter than Apple's XNUMX-inch MacBook, with more power to boot.
Asus calls its ZenBook 3 "the most prestigious laptop in the world" and compared it to MacBooks on stage. The ZenBook 3 is only 11,9 millimeters thick (the MacBook is 13,1 millimeters) and also offers an aluminum body.
At the same time, the ZenBook 3 is more powerful than the XNUMX-inch MacBook, and in this regard, Asus compares it to the MacBook Air, when its new product is supposed to offer "the best of both worlds."
Asus was able to fit the most powerful Intel Core i7 processor and 16GB of RAM into the small machine, while the MacBook only offers a weaker Core M. On the other hand, it does not need a fan, Asus had to install a three-millimeter "thinnest fan in the world".
The display of the third ZenBook is 12,5 inches and is covered by durable Gorilla Glass. The thin machine has the largest screen-to-body ratio of any Asus laptop, at a whopping 82 percent. Similar to the MacBook, the ZenBook 3 has a full-sized keyboard, a glass touchpad, and a fingerprint reader supporting Windows Hello, i.e. login without the need to enter a password.
Asus offers its thin laptop in three colors: royal blue, quartz gray and, following Apple's example, also in rose gold. A USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 port is available for charging. Asus ZenBook 3 should be available in the third quarter of this year for $999 (24 crowns) in the weakest version (Core i300, 5GB RAM, 4 GB SSD).
That last sentence is kind of confusing, isn't it? Should it be with a 1TB or 256 GB disk for that price?
This is the lowest variant, i.e. with a 256GB SSD. The price can then climb up to almost 50 thousand in the highest configuration.
There are two things why I would never buy this Aušus - it contains a bugged and unstable Windows spyware and it cannot last at least the entire working time on battery power.
And then - after two years of use, the store will be in such a state that no one will want it for free, not even for children to play with. So for the same money I'd rather have a Mac :-)
I think he wrote it a little harshly, but I agree. Two friends had a zenbook and left the hinges and display on both. Structurally, it is mac top. Even though the anti-reflective layer fell off the display recently :D But istyle repaired it for free outside the warranty!
and you think that iOS X doesn't collect information about you and doesn't store it on the server, I doubt that it doesn't spy on every OS, you just don't know about it and just let me spy, I have it deep in my anus and the second thing is that it lasts for 9 hours straight and as soon as I realized, he thought it was true because it only has FullHD and that's quite small, so it needs less resolution and even less power, so he thought that 9 to 10 hours was enough
Everyone snoops and collects information, the question is who uses it and how - Apple does not live from advertising and selling this data like Google and Microsoft. And I need a system for work that runs smoothly and doesn't crash. I have a virtual W10 out of necessity for some company applications and I have never used bigger shit in my life, and I have been raised on Windows since version 3.11... And 9-10 hours is not realistically possible (max 4-5), forget about it with regard to the processor , the fan and especially the gluttony of Windows.
I can't tell you if it's 5 hours or 10 hours because I didn't have a hard time evaluating it, but in the review they say it should last, so I think 7 hours or more will be fine

1:28 that's what they say
From the experience of colleagues at the company who have Windows laptops (Dell, HP), which in advertising boast 10+ battery life, on real projects in the field after 3-4 hours they look for the nearest charger with 20 percent of the battery, while I have with the same work and applications still 70-80 percent of the battery, so I just don't believe in it... It just won't work, because in principle Windows is not debugged for the given HW like OSX.
So, so. And it's the same with performance. All would-be Mac knock-offs from Asus fail at slowness and choppiness probably thanks to Win. I tried it myself.
Elitebook 840 G3, this year's model. According to the manufacturer's website, the battery lasts up to 13:30 p.m. In reality, it is 4 hours of economical work, 3 hours of normal work. Even my 4-year-old macbook with the original battery lasts longer without an outlet, and apple never advertised 15 hours of battery life.
Apple and Mac OS is a shunt, I choose Asus.
why are you coming here if you don't like apples?
Asus certainly not in an ultrabook, I have a macbook air for work and an asus notebook with game graphics for playing. The notebook from asus will also stay there for me, it's a toy, not a partner for work :-)
