Apple offers an additional service called AppleCare+ to its products. In practice, this is an additional warranty, thanks to which you are entitled to some more favorable repairs at authorized Apple services. Unfortunately, this service is not available in our country, so we have to settle for the standard 24-month warranty, which is given by law here. Therefore, a rather interesting question arises. Is the absence of AppleCare+ a problem at all, or would it be useful in our region as well.

What AppleCare+ covers

To get to the heart of the matter, we'll first need to shed some light on what AppleCare+ actually covers. Compared to us, the well-known warranty offers several interesting benefits and covers, for example, situations where you drown your iPhone. Specifically, it gives apple growers the right to service support anywhere in the world at authorized dealers and services, free transport in the event of a claim, repair and replacement of accessories (such as power adapter, cable and others), free battery replacement when its capacity drops below 80%, coverage for two incidents of accidental damage (for example, falling to the ground) for a service fee of €29 for a damaged display within the EU and €99 for other damages, priority (XNUMX/XNUMX) access to Apple experts, expert help with iPhone, iOS troubleshooting , iCloud and others or for professional help in case of any questions that may be related to native applications (FaceTime, Mail, Calendar, iMessage and others).

So at first glance, it's clear that AppleCare+ offers a lot more options than our statutory warranty. It works a little differently and primarily solves hardware failures. For example, if your motherboard were to go during the mentioned two years, the seller should solve the problem for you. At the same time, while with AppleCare+ you can take the device to practically any authorized dealer or authorized service center, with our warranty you must visit the place where you bought the device with the receipt. So the warranty does not cover unfortunate incidents. If, for example, your iPhone falls to the ground and its screen breaks, then you simply do not walk, because you caused this problem yourself.

Do we need AppleCare+?

AppleCare+ can come in handy, primarily because it covers a lot more areas. But this is also reflected in its price – for example, for Apple phones, it ranges from $129 to $199, or from roughly CZK 2700 to CZK 4200. On the other hand, for this amount, the user gets a kind of assurance that he will not be left to fend for himself in case of various problems. The service can be arranged when purchasing a new device, or within 60 days of purchase at the latest, and apple users can achieve this in several ways. Of course, the easiest way is to visit the Apple Store or solve everything online. Unfortunately, we have bad luck (so far). How do you perceive the absence of AppleCare+? Would you welcome it in our region, or would you do without it?
