Apple Watch activity challenges are intended to promote the use of the watch for your movement and serve as a way for Apple to guide its users to use the training tracking features. Because in order to get another award, they have to undergo a certain type of exercise for a given period of time. And 2021 was not stingy with them either, and probably the next one won't be either.

As early as January 2022, Apple has planned the Ring in the New Year activity, which will take place for the sixth year in a row. Regardless of the pandemic, the company is still trying to motivate its users to be active, which is evidenced by the number of special challenges that were available until 2021. Users who complete the challenge will then not only receive a special achievement but also unique stickers for iMessage and FaceTime.

Specifically, the New Year's challenge, which will take place from January 7 to 31, 2022, is the most challenging. You have to close all three of its activity circles in it. That means standing for at least one minute out of every 24 hours, getting the recommended 30 minutes of exercise a day, and burning your personal calorie goal every day. You must complete this 7 days in a row.

Apple Watch Activity Challenges 2021

The first January challenge of this year was again the one to welcome the new year. But already in February came another one called Unity. It was connected with Black History Month, which falls on the month of February in the USA. For this occasion, Apple also released a special edition Apple Watch in the colors of the Pan-African flag.

March 8 was International Women's Day, for which Apple has also prepared a special activity. It was valid only on this day and to get a special badge and stickers it was enough to do more than 20 minutes of exercise. Earth Day falls on April 22. A regular challenge is linked to this day, but it was interrupted in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic. This year, however, she returned again. However, you had to exercise for 30 minutes or more that day to receive the award.

International Dance Day credits April 29. And since Apple Watch from watchOS 7 also offers a dance activity, on this day you had to undergo at least a 20-minute exercise in this activity to receive bonus material. And of course also the appropriate badge. June 21 was then Yoga day, when you had to undergo a 15-minute exercise in this activity. And it didn't matter if it was in Apple's native application or another one that has a connection to Health and allows practicing yoga.

On August 28, an activity was then available in connection with national parks. So you had to walk or run 1,6 km during that day to get the award. Originally, this activity was intended only for the territory of the USA, but this year it has spread worldwide. The last activity was from November 11 Veterans Day. But since this is only a holiday in the USA, the activity was only available there.

Apart from these special events and activities, Apple Watch offers many other achievements that are not tied to any significant day and are intended to motivate you to move regularly. And this is important not only during any pandemic, but also in everyday life.
