The iPhone 16 and 16 Pro are still quite a while away, so it's quite unusual to see so much information leaking out about them right now. We have already informed you about the new hardware button, but also the shape of the photo module. Now it's the turn of batteries and their capacities, which you may not like very much in some respect.

Apple has a huge advantage in that it has bet everything on one card - itself. It thus develops hardware and has its own operating system for it. Thanks to this, he can get the most out of both, which is also the envy of many. Google is also trying to switch to the same strategy, but it is only at the beginning of the journey. Samsung is unlucky in this. Even though it has its One UI superstructure, it still runs on Google's Android. Huawei can try, for example, but not because it wants to, but because it has to in order to survive due to sanctions.

What we mean by this is that even though iPhones do not excel in terms of battery size, i.e. battery capacity, iPhones still have great battery life per charge. Not only do they match the bigger battery Android competition, but they usually beat it.

The iPhone 16 Plus will miss out on a lot

leaker Majin Bu has now published the battery capacities of the upcoming iPhones 16, 16 Plus and 16 Pro Max. Apple doesn't disclose these values, instead just stating how long the device will last under a given load. The leaker mentioned not only the individual capacities, but also showed the shape of how the batteries will look. One would expect an increase, when this is indeed the case with two models, but surprisingly not with one.

Apple presents iPhones with the nickname Plus as those with the longest endurance. Paradoxically, in the future generation, its capacity will be reduced, and quite fundamentally. For the basic iPhone, the capacity jumps from 3 mAh to 349 mAh, for the iPhone 3 Pro Max model from 561 mAh in the current generation to 16 mAh. But the iPhone 4 Plus model will lose a crucial 422 mAh, when its battery will decrease from 4 to 676 mAh compared to the current generation.

Almost 400 mAh is a rather fundamental difference that Apple cannot compensate for in software, even if its chip was the most efficient and most economical. It simply means that the company clearly degrades the Plus model on durability. The reason for this may also be that he wants to make the iPhone 16 Pro Max the best, in all respects and without compromise. With the Plus iPhones, Apple presented that they are the iPhones with the longest endurance ever.
