Apple has released the first minor update to the iOS 8 operating system, which has already been installed by almost 50 percent of all users with supported phones. Version iOS 8.0.1 brings some minor bug fixes that plagued the eighth version of Apple's mobile system, but it also came with major problems for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus users. They encountered non-functional Touch ID and signal loss. Apple reacted quickly and pulled the update for now.

iOS 8.0.1 is now not available to download either from the developer center or over-the-air directly to the iOS device. For Re/code Apple he said, that "he is actively saving this problem". However, many users have already managed to download the new hundredth version of iOS 8 and are facing problems. So Apple should react quickly.

The list of fixes in iOS 8.0.1 was as follows:

  • Fixed a bug in HealthKit that caused apps supporting this platform to be removed from the App Store. Now those apps can come back.
  • Fixed a bug where third-party keyboards were not active when entering a password.
  • Improves the reliability of Reachability, so double-tapping the Home button on the iPhone 6/6 Plus should be more responsive and pull the screen down.
  • Some applications could not access the photo library, the update fixes this bug.
  • Receiving SMS/MMS no longer causes occasional excessive mobile data usage
  • Better feature support Request a purchase for In-App Purchases in Family Sharing.
  • Fixed a bug where ringtones were not restored when restoring data from an iCloud backup.
  • You can now upload photos and videos in Safari

The update meant two major inconveniences for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus users. According to users, the mobile network and Touch ID will stop working after it. Older phones seem to have avoided this inconvenience, but Apple preferred to pull the update completely.
