Ondrej Holzman Along with iOS 8 Today, Apple also released an update for Apple TV that brings several new icons, the Beats Music channel, and new features related to iOS 8.
Several icons on Apple TV have received new colors and the font has also been changed, thus Apple continues to bring the interface in Apple TV closer to the look of iOS 7/8. Related to this is support for features such as Family Sharing and iCloud Photo Sharing, which are new for iOS 8 and OS X Yosemite.
With Family Sharing, up to six family members using a single credit card can share content from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes across all iCloud-enabled devices, now including Apple TV. Photos, videos, calendars, reminders and more can also be shared.
Apple has also added the Beats Music channel to Apple TV, so users can now log in to accounts in the streaming music service via the TV set and listen to songs on Apple TV.
However, the aforementioned changes only appear in the latest third-generation Apple TV.
does anyone know if it will be able to Apple TV peer-to-peer? I read somewhere that it's coming, but I don't know yet.. so it won't be necessary to be connected to the same wifi, but it will be able to stream directly from the iPhone/iPad.. thanks

Thanks a lot. so even those building an Apple TV with iOS8 will be able to do this? I didn't have a chance to try it then, but that would be great. I think it will also work on a mac in Yosemite, is that right?

I would like to see it peer to peer.
I have an iMac, iPad, iPhone - AirPlay and sharing via iTunes works, but peer to peer sharing is forgotten, only if you mean family sharing, but it is not peer to peer :-( i.e. classic file sharing.

Apple has apparently been employing blind people as designers since ios7. Apple TV is now uglier and harder to read.
On the technical side, Apple coughs, but there it crams, as it can, one commercial channel after another.
Why is home video no longer displayed in the computer folder?
Until the update I was using Apple TV streaming radio. Now, after the update, satreeming always hangs after 10 minutes of listening and the Apple TV reports a loading error. It happens semi at all stations. Can anyone verify this? Thanks.
