Except for China, all official Apple stores are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. There are a total of 467 stores worldwide. Internal information reached the website today that, in connection with the current situation, the opening of Apple Stores simply will not take place.

Store employees are staying at home to monitor the situation and wait to see how it continues to develop. However, at least according to a leaked report, the management of the company is quite clear that they will not (re)open Apple stores for at least another month. It will then be considered on an individual basis, based on the level of spread of the coronavirus in the area.

The original closing of Apple stores took place on March 14, with the intention of only lasting two weeks. Even then, however, it was clear that the 14-day period would definitely not be final, and that shops would be closed for a much longer period. Apple decided to close globally in order to prevent the potential infection of its employees, even in places where the level of infection was not very high.

In the United States, the situation has been deteriorating rapidly in recent days, and the number of infected people is increasing by leaps and bounds. At the time of writing, there were almost 42 infected and 500 dead in the US, with experts expecting an increase in these numbers until at least May, rather June. In Europe, the virus is still quite far from peaking, so it can be expected that shops will remain closed for several more weeks.

There are different opinions on when (not only) Apple stores will open. Optimists predict the beginning of May, many others (whom I don't personally choose to label as pessimists) expect only the summer period. In the final, it will mainly be about how individual states will manage to slow down and gradually completely stop the spread of the disease. This will be different in each country due to different approaches to the pandemic.
