Apple places increasing emphasis on the health of the apple growers themselves. A great example is the Apple Watch, for which health combined with fitness is one of its main strengths. With the help of apple watches, today we can reliably monitor our daily physical activity, including exercise, and some health functions, which include, for example, heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, ECG and, now, body temperature.

Thanks to the possibilities of our iPhones and Apple Watch, we have a number of interesting health data at our fingertips, which can give us an interesting view of our form, physique, sports performance and health itself. But there is also a small catch. Although Apple constantly emphasizes the importance of health, it does not give us a completely complete option for viewing the relevant data. These are only available in iOS, partially also in watchOS. But if we wanted to look at them on a Mac or iPad, then we are simply out of luck.

The absence of Health on Mac may not make sense

As we mentioned above, if we would like to view the collected health data on our Apple computers or tablets, we unfortunately cannot. Applications such as Health or Fitness are not available within the respective operating systems, which, on the other hand, provide us with a wide range of various information in iOS (iPhone). If Apple brought these tools to the aforementioned devices, it would practically fulfill the long-standing requests of many apple users.

On the other hand, it is not even entirely clear why these two applications are only available within the iOS operating system. Paradoxically, Apple could, on the contrary, benefit from the larger screens of Macs and iPads, and display the aforementioned data in a significantly clearer and friendlier form for apple users. It is therefore not surprising that some users are quite frustrated by this lack. In Apple's eyes, health data plays an extremely important role, but somehow the giant is no longer able to display it on other products. At the same time, not all users use a smartphone at such a level that they browse the data in detail within Health or Fitness. Some simply prefer the just-mentioned larger display, which for this reason is also the primary place not only for work, but also for entertainment. It is precisely these users who could benefit the most from the arrival of apps.

Do alternative solutions work?

In the App Store, we could find various applications that are supposed to work as an alternative solution to this lack. Their goal is specifically to export data from Health in iOS and transfer it in a reasonable form to, for example, a Mac. Unfortunately, it's not exactly ideal either. In many ways, these applications do not work as we would like, while at the same time they can also raise considerable concerns about our privacy. Each user must therefore answer the important question of whether they are willing to entrust their health and sports data to third parties for something like this.

Do you think the absence of Health and Fitness in macOS and iPadOS is justified, or would you like to see them in these systems?
