In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Fujifilm showed off a new application for webcams

In May of this year, Fujifilm introduced the Fujifilm X Webcam application, which was intended only for the Windows operating system. Fortunately, today we also got a version for macOS that allows users to use the mirrorless camera from the X series as a webcam. Simply connect the device to your Mac with a USB cable and you'll instantly get a sharper and generally better image for your video calls. The application is compatible with Chrome and Edge browsers and specifically handles web applications such as Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Skype and Messenger Rooms.

Apple Silicon will be compatible with Thunderbolt technology

A few weeks ago, Apple announced one of the biggest issues in the history of the entire company. The Californian giant intends to get rid of its dependence on Intel by starting to produce its own chips for Apple computers. Even before the introduction of Apple Silicon, when the entire Internet was full of speculation, Apple fans discussed various topics. What about virtualization? How will the performance be? Will apps be available? It can be said that Apple already answered these three questions during the Keynote itself. But one thing was forgotten. Will Apple's chips be compatible with Thunderbolt technology, which allows lightning-fast data transfer?

Fortunately, the answer to this question has now been brought by our foreign colleagues from The Verge magazine. They managed to obtain a statement from the spokesperson of the Cupertino company, which reads as follows:

“More than a decade ago, Apple teamed up with Intel to develop Thunderbolt technology, the extreme speed of which every Apple user enjoys with their Mac these days. That's why we remain committed to this technology and will continue to support it on Macs with Apple Silicon.”

We should expect the first computer powered by a chip from the California giant's workshop at the end of this year, while Apple expects that the complete transition to the aforementioned Apple Silicon solution will take place within two years. These ARM processors could bring much better performance, energy saving, lower heat output and many other benefits.

Apple has launched a Back to School event

The Californian giant signs up every summer with a special Back to School event aimed at college students. This event is already a tradition at Apple. While students have access to student discounts all year round, they always come up with some extra bonus as part of this event. This year, Apple decided to bet on second-generation AirPods worth 4 crowns. And how to get headphones? First, of course, you need to be a college student. After that, all you have to do is make a purchase new Mac or iPad, to which the Californian giant automatically bundles the aforementioned headphones. You can also add a wireless charging case to your cart for an additional 999,99 crowns, or go straight for the version of AirPods Pro with active noise cancellation, which will cost you 2 crowns.
