Apple didn't just prepare for today iPhone 5, but also introduced the revamped iPod nano and the brand new iPod touch. At the end, he prepared a small surprise in the form of new headphones...
iPod nano seventh generation
Greg Joswiak started by saying that Apple had already produced six generations of the iPod nano, but now he wanted to change it again. The new iPod nano therefore has a large display, new controls and is thinner and lighter. There is also a Lightning connector.
At 5,4 millimeters, the new iPod nano is the thinnest Apple player ever made, and at the same time it has the largest multi-touch display to date. Underneath the 2,5-inch screen is a home button, just like on an iPhone. There are buttons on the side for easy music control. There are seven colors to choose from – red, yellow, blue, green, pink, silver and black.
The seventh-generation iPod nano has an integrated FM tuner and, again, video, this time widescreen, which makes full use of the new display. The new player also has built-in fitness apps including a pedometer and Bluetooth, which users have wanted for pairing the iPod with headphones, speakers or the car. Following the example of the iPhone 5, the latest iPod nano is equipped with an 8-pin Lightning connector and has the longest battery life of any generation to date, i.e. 30 hours of music playback.
The new iPod nano will go on sale in October, and the 16GB version will be available through the Apple Online Store for $149, which is roughly 2 crowns.
iPod touch fifth generation
The iPod touch is the world's most popular player and at the same time an increasingly popular gaming device. It's no surprise that the new iPod touch is the lightest ever and almost as thin as the iPod nano. In numbers, that's 88 grams, or 6,1 mm.
The display has also changed, the iPod touch now has the same display as the iPhone 5, a four-inch Retina display, and its body is made of high-quality anodized aluminum. Compared to its predecessor, the iPod touch is faster, thanks to the dual-core A5 chip. Even with up to two times higher computing and up to seven times higher graphics performance, the battery still lasts up to 40 hours of music playback and 8 hours of video.
Users can look forward to a five-megapixel iSight camera with automatic focus and flash. The rest of the parameters are similar to those of the iPhone 5, i.e. 1080p video, a hybrid IR filter, five lenses and a focus of f/2,4. The camera is thus much better than the previous generation. It also has the Panorama mode introduced with the iPhone 5.
The new iPod touch also benefits from a FaceTime HD camera with 720p support, following the example of the iPhone 5, it also receives Bluetooth 4.0 and improved Wi-Fi supporting 802.11a/b/g/n at 2,4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies. For the first time, AirPlay mirroring and Siri, the voice assistant, appear on the iPod touch. There will now be more color options to choose from, the iPod touch will be available in pink, yellow, blue, white silver and black.
A brand new feature of the fifth generation iPod touch is the strap. There is a round button at the bottom of the player that pops up when you press it and you can hang a strap on it or, if you want, a bracelet for a secure fit. Each iPod touch comes with a bracelet of the appropriate color.
The fifth-generation iPod touch will be available for pre-order from September 14 with a price tag of $299 (5 crowns) for the 600GB version and $32 (399 crowns) for the 7GB model. It will go on sale in October. The fourth-generation iPod touch remains on sale, with the 600GB version for $64 and the 8GB version for $199. All prices are for the US market, they may differ here.
EarPods
At the end, Apple prepared a small surprise. Just as the 30-pin dock connector ended today, the life of traditional Apple headphones is slowly coming to an end. Apple spent three years developing completely new headphones called EarPods. In Cupertino, they worked on them for so long because they tried to develop the most ideal shape possible, which would fit the majority of users.
The good news is that EarPods will come with the iPod touch, iPod nano and iPhone 5. They are available separately in the American Apple Online Store for $29 (550 crowns). According to Apple, at the same time, they should be of very high quality in terms of audio and thus equal to expensive high-end competing headphones. It will certainly be a step forward from the original headphones, for which Apple was often criticized. The question is how big.

ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you.. the iLumia…
no seriously, they really didn't have to copy Lumia and N9...
How could they copy lumii? Do you think that these products can be made easily and quickly?
Look how long the nokia n9 has been out there.. Otherwise, I agree with the opinions of most of the debaters. The new iphone is a real flop, a noodle with a repulsive hole in the bottom.. But the new ipod touch is very nice, I will probably buy it for my girlfriend for Christmas. The Nano is a disaster, the previous model was absolutely perfect.

Well, I just wanted to write that the iPod Nano is actually a Lumia Mini...

Apple had this look for the iPod in its designs a long time ago. That's what an iPhone could look like. He proved it with photos on a Samsung barrel. So Lumia was inspired by Apple and not the other way around.
I have to say that iPods pleased me much more than iPhones.
Me too
Too too.
Biggest disappointment, Steve is turning in his grave!!!
I would just point out that f/2,4 is not focus, but brightness. The focal length (or how you spread the focal point) will (after calculation) probably be 35mm (as with the iPhone 4s). Otherwise super summarized, thanks ;)!

That iPod nano is like 5th gen. without a clickwheel, nothing much, it would be better if they didn't put a home button there but spread the display over the entire body of the ipod...but that's too clever, a lot of things could be done differently.
We'll see what the sales numbers say...
ipod nano = NOKIA N9 or LUMIA
I was also wondering what the pictures of Nokias with an apple on their backs are doing here…
except for the black version of iPod nano and iPod touch, it's a complete tragedy. Such a distracting design in the form of a white center. Why did they screw it up so much? Or maybe someone likes it? I'm quite curious about the headphones. Fortunately, they didn't freeze the iPod shuffle like that. The design of the new iPhone is beautiful and clean, but this about the iPod is really a mega mistake. besides, the colors are so cheap. If anyone else's logo was on it, it wouldn't even look like something Apple created.
I would just like to add to the article that EarPods are also sold with iPod Shuffle, at least they can be seen in the packaging on the pages
so I looked over the picture, although it is there as an accessory
five lenses and f/2,4 focus
it's not the focal point but the brightness
I don't see the iPhone as a disappointment, but I don't see it as any innovation either. Rather, it's a necessary development... Anyway, I'm interested in the new iPods :)
