After two weeks since the last developer preview of the upcoming operating system OS X 10.10 Yosemite, it is already the seventh in the order. This is only a beta version for registered developers, it is not part of the public preview for the first million interested non-developers. The new OS X beta is also released again without the iOS 8 beta update, after all, both systems are not supposed to be released at the same time. While iOS 8 is to be released around September 9 together with the iPhone 6, we will not see OS X Yosemite until October. In addition to OS X, new beta versions for OS X Server 4.0, XCode 6.0 Apple Configurator 1.6. Here's what's new from the latest build:

  • Added some redesigned icons in system preferences
  • The main menu has been slightly modified in dark mode and the font has a narrower cut. The dark mode will also be reflected in the Spotlight appearance
  • Some system apps have new icons: Migration Wizard, Keychain, Dashboard, Color Sync, and Disk Utility.
  • The Software Updates item has disappeared from the main menu, instead you will see only "App Store", the item also shows the number of available updates.
  • The versions interface has the same look and feel as the redesigned Time Machine.
  • The icon for external drive and disk image has changed
  • FaceTime has an option in the settings for the default calling app. In addition to FaceTime, Skype is also an option.

The new beta version of OS X Yosemite can be downloaded via the App Store from the updates tab.
