Practically all the new products that Apple presented yesterday at its spring Keynote will be overshadowed by the new color variants of the iPhone 13. But there is one interesting fact with which society is changing its habits. We actually expected green for the basic iPhone 13 series, but the fact that the 13 Pro series also comes in alpine green is quite a surprise.

Spring is the time when Apple presents the iPhone SE in particular. In the case of the 1st generation, this happened in March 2016, and in the case of the 2nd generation in April 2020. In the spring, we also usually got a red (PRODUCT)RED version of the current iPhone, when this color was not yet included in the permanent offer. Last year, Apple also showed us the purple iPhone 12 and 12 mini.

Yesterday was the first time for quite a few. Not only did we get the green color for the iPhone 13 and 13 mini, but also the alpine green color for the iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max. So it is the first time that Apple has expanded the color portfolio even for its professional phones, although it is not the first time that we have the honor of green color in this series. But for the first time, we also saw that Apple introduced a new generation of its phone to the company with a new iPhone color.

It's time to lighten up

iPhone XS (Max) were still available in the obligatory trio of colors, i.e. silver, space gray and gold. When the company introduced the 11 Pro series, i.e. the first professional iPhone series, a year later, we had a choice of four of its colors, when midnight green was added to the classic trio. The iPhone 12 Pro has already replaced space gray with graphite gray, and the tinge of gold color has also changed a lot, even though it was still referred to as gold. However, instead of midnight green, Pacific blue came so that Apple lightened it to mountain blue in the iPhone 13 Pro.

So up until now we've only ever had four color variants of the Pro models, that's changed now. Even with this green, however, it actually only got lighter. With the new color variants, the company also presented appropriate wallpapers that perfectly match the new look of the iPhones. They are based on the original wallpaper designs, only recolored accordingly. With the release of iOS 15.4, which is scheduled for next week, they should also be available to all existing iPhone 13 or 13 Pro owners.

The iPhone SE 3rd generation is needlessly grounded

It can be seen that users like the color combination, otherwise Apple would have added color only to basic models. On the other hand, it's rather strange that the new iPhone SE 3rd generation is still holding its ground. So it's true that here black has been replaced by dark inky and white by starry white, but if the company expects a sales hit from its cheapest iPhone, it could have supported its sales with more eye-catching colors. (PRODUCT)RED red remained. Even here, the green would look very nice, as well as, for example, lemon yellow or apricot, which the company showed us with the new spring iPhone 13 covers and Apple Watch straps.
