After years of waiting, Apple has finally introduced a completely new monitor that is also intended for regular users and whose purchase will not completely break the bank (unlike the high-end, but very expensive Apple Pro Display XDR monitor). The novelty is called Studio Display and it accompanies the brand new Mac model Mac Studio, which you can read about in this article.

Studio Display specifications

The basis of the new Studio Display monitor is a 27″ 5K Retina panel with 17,7 million pixels, support for the P3 gamut, brightness of up to 600 nits and support for True Tone. In addition to a great panel, the monitor is loaded with modern technologies, including the integrated A13 Bionic processor, which takes care of the operation of accompanying functions, which include, for example, three integrated microphones with "studio" sound quality. In terms of ergonomics, the Studio Display monitor will offer 30% tilt and pivot, support for a stand from Pro Display XDR for those who would require a greater range of positioning, and of course there is also support for the VESA standard for holders and stands from other manufacturers.

There are a total of 6 speakers in the monitor's construction, in the configuration of 4 woofers and 2 tweeters, the combination of which supports Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos. It should be the best integrated sound system in monitors on the market. The monitor also includes the same 12 MPx Face Time camera found in all new iPads, which of course supports the popular Center Stage function. The monitor screen can be modified (for an additional fee) using a special nano-textured and semi-matte surface, which we know from the Pro Display XDR model. As for connectivity, on the back of the monitor we find one Thunderbolt 4 port (with support for charging up to 96W) and three USB-C connectors (with a throughput of up to 10 Gb/s).

Studio Display price and availability

The monitor will be available in silver and black colors, and in addition to the monitor, the package also includes other similarly colored peripherals, namely the Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse wireless keyboard. The base price of the Studio Display monitor will be $1599, with pre-orders starting this Friday, with sales a week later. It can be assumed that, as with the more expensive Pro Display XDR model, there will be an option to pay extra for a special anti-reflective nano-texture on the panel surface.
