After a long wait, fans of Apple headphones finally got their hands on it, and they were certainly pleased with the arrival of the 3rd generation AirPods. At first glance, the headphones stand out in the design itself, in which it was strongly inspired by its older sibling with the designation Pro. Similarly, the charging case itself has also changed. To make matters worse, Apple has also invested in resistance to water and sweat, adaptive equalization, which adjusts music based on the shape of the user's ears and also supports surround sound. At the same time, the Cupertino giant also slightly changed the AirPods Pro.
AirPods join the MagSafe family
At the same time, the 3rd generation AirPods boasted one more interesting novelty. Their charging case is newly compatible with MagSafe technology, so they can be powered in this way as well. After all, Apple himself mentioned this during their presentation on Monday. What he did not add, however, is the fact that a similar change has also arrived for the already mentioned AirPods Pro headphones. Until now, AirPods Pro could be charged either via a cable or wireless chargers according to the Qi standard. Newly, however, pieces ordered at the moment, i.e. after Monday's keynote, already come with a case similar to the 3rd generation AirPods and therefore also support MagSafe.
It should be noted, however, that the MagSafe Charging Case for AirPods Pro headphones cannot be purchased separately, at least not for now. So, if any of the Apple fans desperately wanted this option, they would have to buy completely new headphones. Whether the cases will be sold separately is still unclear - anyway, it would definitely make sense.
What benefits does MagSafe bring?
Subsequently, the question arises as to what benefits such a change actually brings and whether they are actually useful. For now, we are in a relatively sad situation, as MagSafe support does not change practically anything. It just adds another option for Apple users to power their Apple headphones - nothing more, nothing less. But no one can deny Apple anymore that this is a step forward, albeit a small one, which may please some group of users.
AirPods 3st generation:
At the same time, in connection with MagSafe support, questions about the topic of reverse charging also began to appear. In that case, it would work so that the iPhone could also wirelessly power the 3rd generation AirPods and AirPods Pro charging cases via the MagSafe technology in its back. This would be a relatively practical and effective solution. Unfortunately, nothing like that is possible yet, and the question remains whether Apple will actually ever use reverse charging. It's also a mystery why Apple hasn't done something similar yet. For example, competing flagships offer this option, and he doesn't seem to face any criticism for it. At the moment we can only hope so.
Is it possible to identify from the packaging that the given Airpods Pro already supports Magsafe? I want to buy new headphones and Magsafe support would be useful. Thank you
Order directly from Apple. There is certainty.
They are on sale in stores, but they will all be old versions.
E-shops have them listed as airpods pro (2021) at the original price of 7290...
Interestingly. Since the first day it was possible, I have only used Mag Safe at home. And even for Airpods Pro headphones, which is actually a year old. 🤷🏽♂️😀.
