Press Release: In 2024, trends such as artificial intelligence, security and privacy protection, edge computing and advanced data analysis will become the main drivers of digital transformation. At the enterprise level, the natural catalyst for those changes can be Apple, a brand that the public associates more with end-consumer products. A study by analyst firm Forrester shows that Macs accelerate the performance potential of large businesses while delivering a high return on investment (ROI).

"Apple plays an important role in the enterprise field not only abroad, but is also gradually penetrating the Czech environment. And so through their innovative products, reliable software and security, digital transformation can be supported almost anywhere. A well-functioning ecosystem can be one of the main factors of success," explains Jana Studničková, CEO of iBusiness Thein, the youngest B2B authorized Apple reseller in the Czech Republic and a new project of the Thein group.

An ecosystem that naturally accelerates transformation

Apple's ecosystem is unique in terms of interconnection, security and user experience. Users can seamlessly switch between Macbook, iPad and iPhone and, of course, other elements of the internal communication infrastructure. Apps available in the App Store, such as Slack, Microsoft 365, and Adobe Creative Cloud, can be instantly and easily integrated into workflows and used to extend business automation and communication.

“A great example is when you're in the middle of a presentation with a client that you're looking at on your MacBook. But while creating, you lost important information that you can't remember, but you have it saved in the application on your iPhone. The compatibility and connection between Apple products ensures that you can immediately switch between a computer and a phone without the client noticing even for a second," comments Jana Studničková from iBusiness Thein, adding: "It is precisely this seemingly trivial ability that can significantly support digitization across different segments of the company."

Study reveals surprising benefits of buying Macs and iPhones

The analytical company Forrester studied the impact of the deployment of Apple technologies in large organizations and created its own methodology. In the latest study, "The Total Economic Impact™ Of Mac In Enterprise: M1 Update", she looked at the next generation devices with Apple's own M1 chips. Based on the analysis of companies with tens to hundreds of thousands of employees from different countries, the Forrester study identified the following main benefits:

✅ Savings in IT support costs: Deploying Macs will save organizations money spent on IT support and operational costs. Over the three-year life cycle of the device, this represents an average savings of $635 per Mac when comparing support and operating costs to legacy devices.

✅ Lower Total Cost of Ownership: Mac devices are on average $207,75 cheaper than a comparable alternative in terms of hardware and software costs. The improved performance of the M1 chip also makes it possible to deploy basic devices for a wider group of employees. This lowers the average cost of equipment while providing employees with more computing power.

✅ Improved security: Deploying Macs reduces the risk of a security incident by 50% on each device deployed. Organizations consider their M1 Macs more secure because they have built-in security features such as automatic data encryption and anti-malware.

✅ Increased employee productivity and engagement: With M1 Macy, employee retention rates improve by 20% and increase employee productivity by 5%. People using Apple devices are generally more satisfied and the study also revealed that they save time by not having to restart as many times and each operation is faster.

The costs of digital transformation

Digitization is an expensive process, which is why the study also focused on the return on investment. The most important finding is that the model organization saw benefits of $131,4 million against costs of $30,1 million over three years, resulting in a net present value (NPV) of $101,3 million and a return on investment (ROI) of 336%. That's a surprisingly high number that more than makes up for the seemingly higher acquisition costs.

Overlap and social responsibility

Corporate social responsibility represents an increasingly important criterion for supplier selection. Apple is an example in this direction. It is the biggest innovator in the field of sustainability among technology companies, each newly introduced Apple product is significantly more environmentally friendly than its predecessor. In this regard, Forrester confirms that the operation of computers with new chips contributes to the reduction of the carbon footprint, since they consume less energy than other PCs. Apple is also active in education, where it supports the development of IT skills and digital technologies, including certifications for developers.
