Filip Brož I have already played hundreds of different games on my iPhone. However, in those few years, I can't remember a game that was as difficult to the point of being unplayable as Super Hexagon. After the first launch, I thought that maybe the developers weren't serious, because they skipped the easy and medium levels and served the players straight up on the hardest possible difficulty. Super Hexagon is an action based observation game that has made it to this week's App of the Week and is free to download on the App Store.
The principle of the retro game is very simple. Your task is to dodge geometric shapes flying at you from all sides with a small arrow. In the hexagon, you must always find a way to slip through and stay in the game as long as possible. After all, it's easy to say, but much harder to do. The game has an accelerating character and at first I couldn't even last five seconds.
There are three levels of difficulty at the start, with another round unlocked if you last more than one minute. The joke is that the game constantly changes the camera and rotates individual geometric shapes, which means that you will always be totally confused. From a control point of view, you only have two directional cursors, which you can easily get by with.
In addition to the demanding difficulty, the developers have also prepared a bouncy soundtrack that will enhance the gaming experience even more. If you manage to find a trick to stay in the game as long as possible, the Hyper Hexagonest level is waiting for you, which is intended for real "hards" and demanding players. In my opinion, it is impossible to hold for more than two seconds.
Super Hexagon is definitely not a relaxing game. Likewise, don't count on playing it at a tram stop or anywhere else to pass the time. The game requires 100% concentration and focus, without which it is practically impossible to progress at least a little further. The game is compatible with all iOS devices and is currently available for free in the App Store.
