Think you have nimble fingers? Do you have perfect control over all gestures on iOS? Thanks to the game Hyper Square, I discovered that I still need to train a little. Hyper Square is another indie puzzle game that is free to download on the App Store as part of this week's App of the Week.
The game is the responsibility of independent developers from the studio Team Signal, who have already won several awards with Hyper Square. As the name of the game suggests, the game is all about squares and speed. You can check this in eight rounds, which are gradually unlocked. In each level, you always have the same task, to place the given squares as quickly as possible where they belong or fit. In the first round, it will be very simple, and with the help of swiping, you throw one poem at them. In the next rounds, it will be considerably more difficult. Gestures and rotation come next.
Around the fourth lap, you'll find that you're really not that fast, and it will take some practice. As the levels increase, so does the difficulty, and you will have the squares stacked on top of each other in different ways, and in addition to placing them, you will have to rotate, expand or move them in different ways. In addition to all this, of course, you are pressed against the relentless clock, and you literally have a few seconds to complete each round. A red line will always fly across your screen and once it flies a few times, you're done and have to start all over again.
Hyper Square impresses with its novel game concept, but I'm a little lacking in more levels. At the end of each round, you have bonus sections, the so-called hyper mode or infinity, where you can overcome yourself, but there could be more. Hyper Square also impresses with motivational music in the style of techno, which forces you to perform even better. But in the end, you have no choice but to repeat the individual levels over and over again until you go crazy.
Hyper Square is compatible with all iOS devices and can be downloaded for free from the App Store. The perfect game to beat boredom and stretch all your fingers. Let speed accompany you.
