Filip Brož Spongebob is a worldwide phenomenon that has received a lot of attention. It has also made it to the App of the Week selection once before, and this week it did it again. On the other hand, it is a completely different concept of the game, which, in my opinion, is much more fun and harder to learn. And what's more, it's another iPhone legend - Doodle Jump.
As the name suggests, Doodle Jump SpongeBob SquarePants is a fun jumper that will keep you glued to your device's display for a very long time. Spongebob jumps as if devoid of meaning and your task is to navigate him in a complex terrain full of traps. However, don't expect any cursor arrows or swiping across the display. Spongebob can only be controlled by tilting the device sideways.
The only thing Spongebob can control is shooting bubbles, thanks to which you can easily and quickly destroy the enemies that stand in your way to the top of your dreams. A total of less than fifty rounds await you, in which you can test your perception and precise control. I have to say that the complexity increases rapidly with increasing levels, and for that reason I was very happy for a few nifty gadgets and bonus sections.
For example, I really liked the trampoline in the shape of a clam, which always kicked me up a few squares. I also felt safe in the underwater submarine and the various jumping poles came in handy. Of course, all the goodies are gradually unlocked by how successful you are. You can also buy them in the menu and upgrade them with won gold. You collect them during individual rounds, and some chest is always waiting for you even at the very end of the level.
Although it is stated in the App Store that the game is intended for children from four years of age, I firmly believe that it will please many adults. I like the interesting graphics, which are thematically tuned in the spirit of the American series. I also liked the game concept of jumping from side to side, so when I jumped to the left edge, it spit me right and vice versa. Pretty clever if you want to fool the enemy.
Doodle Jump SpongeBob SquarePants offers several hours of clever fun that will delight any lover of jumping games. Anyone who has ever played the now-legendary Doodle Jump will surely be pleased with the thematic SpongeBob.
