O AirTag has been talked about among apple growers for several years. Practically since 2019, we have been able to read various leaks quite regularly, in any case, we had to wait until this April for the official presentation, namely the Spring Loaded Keynote. As it seems, Apple had the product ready a long time ago. At the same time, today the Cupertino giant finally clarified the situation regarding the use of the new 12,9″ iPad Pro with M1 and Liquid Retina XDR display in combination with the Magic Keyboard (first generation).

AirTag packaging reveals that the product was ready for sale as early as 2019

The Apple AirTag locator pendant is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated products. A similar localization device has been talked about in connection with Apple for several years, when the first mentions began to appear specifically in 2019. Since then, an interesting leak describing this upcoming product has swept through the Internet from time to time. In addition, last week it was revealed that Apple was seeking the necessary approvals and certifications in the aforementioned 2019, with testing beginning in the second half of the same year. In addition, another rather interesting piece of evidence has recently appeared. Images from a YouTuber named ZONEofTECH show the official documentation of AirTags that we can find inside the packaging, in which the year 2019 is mentioned in connection with the regulatory approval and trademark.

Despite this, we can find the year 2020 listed directly on the packaging. In any case, both of these indicators speak quite clearly - Apple had this localization tag ready for a long time, and its sales could theoretically have started two years ago. At the moment, of course, nobody knows why we didn't get to see the performance until this year's Spring Loaded Keynote. Some sources believe that a long-standing disagreement between Apple and Tile, which incidentally focuses on the development and production of localization objects, is to blame. Tile has been accusing the Cupertino giant of monopolistic behavior for a long time.

The older Magic Keyboard is compatible with the new 12,9″ iPad Pro

Shortly after the introduction of the new iPad Pro, which in its 12,9″ version offers a new Liquid Retina XDR display (mini-LED), concerns began to spread among Apple users. The new "Pročko" is 0,5 mm thicker, which is why everyone was worried that it would not be compatible with the older Magic Keyboard. In any case, this does not apply to the 11″ variant - the size has not changed in any way. Apple has now commented directly on the whole situation through a new document, where fortunately he clarifies the whole situation.

The first generation Magic Keyboard can also be connected to the new 12,9″ iPad Pro with the M1 chip, so there is no lack of compatibility. There is only one thing to blame for the fact that the new model is thicker anyway. The keyboard won't fit as perfectly when closed. According to Apple, this situation should get worse when using protective glass. If you would like to avoid these problems, you will have to purchase a new version of the Magic Keyboard, which is virtually identical to the first generation. The only difference is the larger variant and its compatibility with the M1 iPad Pro. In addition, it is now available not only in black, but also in white.

Apple has released the 2nd developer beta versions of its systems
