But that's not the only thing that Apple has prepared for us, as the long-awaited 3rd generation AirPods are expected to be unveiled at the same time. Specifically, these headphones should be introduced right next to the new Apple phones and bring an interesting design change. But what can we actually expect from them and will they really present themselves now?

Practically the first leaks and speculations mentioned that the 3rd generation AirPods will come in a completely new design. In this direction, Apple should be inspired by AirPods Pro, according to which the foot will be shortened or the charging case will be narrowed & extended. This information was also confirmed by an earlier video leak that was supposed to reveal working AirPods 3rd generation.

It's still going to be balls
Since the expected AirPods are to be strongly inspired by the mentioned AirPods Pro, it is necessary to realize that this probably only concerns the design side of things. For this reason, they will continue to be so-called ear buds. Therefore, do not count on the arrival of (replaceable) plugs. In any case, Mark Gurman, a popular analyst and editor of Bloomberg, claimed last year that the third generation will have replaceable plugs like "Pročka." However, this report is refuted by other leaks and information coming directly from the supply chain of the Cupertino company.
New chip
The insides of the headphones themselves should also be improved. There is often talk of using a completely new chip, instead of the current Apple H1, which could make the headphones work much better in general. Specifically, this change would be responsible for more stable transmission, even over a longer distance, better performance and quite possibly even longer battery life per charge.
Sensors for control
In any case, what else the headphones could be inspired by AirPods Pro is the introduction of new sensors that respond to taps. These would be located on the feet themselves, replacing the current single/double tap for certain functions. In this direction, however, apple growers are divided into two camps. While some love the existing system and would definitely not change it, others rather prefer the options of the Pro model.
Power supply
Finally, there is also talk of an interesting improvement for the power case itself. Currently, with the 2nd generation AirPods, you can choose whether you want the headphones with a regular case or a wireless charging case. This option could disappear completely in the third generation, for a simple reason. Apple should reportedly introduce the ability to charge the case wirelessly via the Qi standard across the board, which is definitely great news.
When will we actually see it?
As we already mentioned in the very introduction, the 3rd generation AirPods headphones should be presented to the world already in September. Currently, however, the closer date is completely unknown, in any case, the 3rd week of September is most often talked about.
