At Apple's October conference last year announced Adobe development of full-featured Photoshop for iPad. Exactly one year later, the popular editing tool is really coming to the screens of Apple tablets - Photoshop for iPad is available for download in the App Store from this morning. However, this is the first version, which is still missing several promised features.

Photoshop for iPad offers an almost identical interface to the desktop version, which is definitely welcome. However, it lacks several functions. At first, Adobe primarily focused on basic tools for retouching and blending layers, while other functions will be added over time. The goal is for the mobile version to be as close as possible to the desktop version and offer the same editing options.

Like other Adobe applications, the new Photoshop for iPadOS also works on a subscription basis. The application is already part of the subscription for Photoshop CC within the Creative Cloud, which also brings the advantage that all projects in progress are shared between the desktop and mobile versions. For those who don't subscribe yet, Adobe offers a 30-day free trial.

Although Photoshop for iPad still lacks some tools, it does offer one added value. The version for iPad already supports Apple Pencil (first and second generation), which opens up new editing possibilities especially for graphic artists.

You can install the app on all iPad Pro, iPad mini 4, iPad mini 5, iPad Air 2 and iPad 5th generation. The mentioned tablets must have at least iPadOS 13.1.
