We were recently able to learn that Photoshop CC for iPad will not handle as many features as expected. However, now the well-known blogger John Gruber comes with additional information.

According to Gruber, Adobe is committed to bringing the best possible version of Photoshop to the iPad. The company now has a dedicated team of people dedicated only to the development of the tablet version. In addition, they set relatively strict deadlines.

"So it is possible that many are disappointed after the latest news. But anyone who cares about Photoshop knows it's going to be a long shot,” Gruber claims.

As a reaction to experience of beta testers then presents counterarguments. According to him, Adobe took the entire core of Photoshop and rewrote it from the desktop to the iPad. This will bring the real Photoshop to the tablet, but not yet in a fully functional version.

The emphasis is on the word yet. After all, no one planned that Photoshop would come out immediately with all the features of the desktop version. Through iterative development, features will gradually increase, and thanks to the same core, this won't even be a problem anymore.

Illustrator will benefit from Photoshop's legacy

So Adobe is said to be taking its time to fine-tune the product. It is also necessary to adapt all components above the core to the touch interface.

The company originally introduced its Photoshop CC for iPad at Keynote in October 2018. However, closed testing did not begin until May of this year. Only now do we know the first impressions of testers, which are quite embarrassing.

Initially, Photoshop CC will be able to natively open PSD files and handle only basic editing. Advanced features will come gradually with various updates.

The upcoming Adobe Illustrator for iPad will then benefit from the Photoshop CC legacy and code. The first version of which should arrive in the fall of 2020 as part of the Adobe MAX conference. The app will be part of your Adobe Creative Cloud subscription.
