The end of the dispute over the theft of information about Apple Silicon chips

After two years, Apple has decided to enter into an agreement with the startup Rivos, which it sued in May 2022 for stealing trade secrets and accusing it of stealing four dozen employees. Apple alleged in the lawsuit that former employees stole proprietary information at the request of Rivos as part of the hiring process. According to the lawsuit, those employees allegedly smuggled gigabytes of confidential data to Rivos related to the A- and M-series chips. Rivos then retaliated against Apple in September 2023 with its own lawsuit, accusing it of using intimidation and other tactics to dissuade its engineers from leaving. Both companies want to reach a mutual agreement by March 15 and are working on a remedial process.
