Windows and macOS have been the main rivals in the field of desktop operating systems for more than three decades. All this time - especially in the early days - one system was inspired by the other in the integration of many functions. On the contrary, they omitted other, useful ones, even if they would be beneficial for the user. An example is the Internet Recovery function, which has been offered by Macy for eight years, while Microsoft is deploying it in its system only now.
In Apple's case, Internet Recovery is part of macOS Recovery and simply allows you to reinstall the system from the Internet. All you have to do is connect to the network and the computer will download all the data from the relevant servers and install macOS. The function comes in handy especially at the moment when a problem occurs on the Mac and you need to reinstall the system without the need to create a bootable flash drive, etc.
Internet Recovery made its way to Apple computers for the first time in June 2011 with the arrival of OS X Lion, while it was also available on some Macs from 2010. In contrast, Microsoft is not introducing a similar feature in Windows 10 until now in 2019, a full eight years later later.
As the magazine found out The Verge, the novelty is part of the test version of Windows 10 Insider Preview (Build 18950) and is called "Cloud download". It is not yet fully functional, but the Redmod company should make it available to testers in the near future. Later, along with the release of a larger update, it will also reach regular users.
However, Microsoft offered a function on a similar principle not too long ago, but only for its own devices from the Surface product line. As part of this, users can restore a copy of Windows 10 from the cloud and then reinstall the system.
Who can bet that MS will not add this function to the system in the next two years? They already promised it and failed to deliver. W10 is wretchedness and a hodgepodge of semi-functional copied OS features ??
You are a moron.
However, the Mac needs the Internet for this recovery, which is practically useless when there is no possibility to go online or the line is slower. Offline recovery cannot be done. For Windows, it will only be an optional option. I mean about a million times better :)
Sorry, but this is a headline from Blesk and not from a reputable media outlet. MacOS does not have X functions that are more important for productive work (e.g. corner/edge snapping, support for the END key). Describing that the X does not have this or that function, but it is on the MAC, that is probably like children arguing at the base, which of them is the better mobile phone...
I don't understand what you're talking about? Can't you do a recovery in dozens, or is it not enough for you that the current version of the system is in the recovery, or are you in over your head?
It's nonsense. The author of the article should think about himself. Windows and MacOS are competing OSes, or They are alternative to each other. Do we want MacOS to be a copy of Win and vice versa? Difference is what we buy and prefer. As already mentioned in the comment, both systems have their own functions that differentiate these systems from each other.
