Indeed, Apple has long advertised how ideal it is for gamers – not only on macOS but also on iOS. He is not in the final. On Mac computers, the situation is still tragic compared to Windows, and it turns out that no one really wants to play big games on mobile. In addition, their extension is now being undermined by Apple itself.

It's out on iOS today Death Stranding Director's Cut, a true AAA game that is a mobile port of the classic adult version. You can already download and play it, when its price is not too high either. It is set at a pleasant 499 CZK. And quite possibly it is one of the (first and) last representatives of big games that we will see on iPhones.

Finally, full-fledged cloud gaming

But this year we will see another big thing. This is the fact that Apple has released cloud gaming. Until now, you could only play on iPhones via the web, which was very impractical. But now it has updated its App Store policies and actually lifted the long-standing ban on game streaming apps. To support the game streaming app category, it will even add new features to help improve the discovery of streaming games and other widgets such as chatbots or plugins.

So, won't even the big companies simply be better off providing their mature title within the stream rather than developing complex, lengthy and expensive ports for the iOS platform? Of course yes. In addition, if you approach the meaning of the game stream, you will make money, because this will open countless more games to you immediately, cheaply and with high quality, and moreover without the need for any downloads. You just need to have a fast internet connection and ideally a hardware driver.

What will happen to Apple Arcade?

It's the opening of the game stream that hints at what Apple is up to with Apple Arcade. He couldn't convert his platform to streaming if he didn't allow others to do so. But he just did, and it seems pointless for him not to add this option to Arcade (we'll see at WWDC24). The advantage here would be that if you wanted, you could easily install the titles on your iPhone, if not, you would play them from the cloud. This would make the most sense.

In addition, Apple could start buying big games that it would offer as part of the Arcade and could support its platform more, when many players would certainly hear about it. It could also be a change for Netflix, which also offers mobile games as part of its subscription, but they must be installed on the device. If he moved them to the cloud, it would certainly make more sense given his sense of core business.
